HISTORY OF HOSPITAL PERMAI 1916 A mental hospital was built in Batu 3, Jalan Skudai, Johor Bahru. The hospital was named Mental Asylum but it was better known as Hospital Gila Batu 3. This site is now a major commercial and residential area. Before the hospital was built, all patients with mental illness went to Woodbridge Hospital in Singapore for treatment. 1929 The hospital name was changed to Lunatic Asylum. 1936 HRH Al-Marhum Sultan Ibrahim had ordered for the hospital to be relocated. PMO, Dr G.H Garlick found a suitable area and the construction for the new hospital started by Dobb Company from England. 1937 The hospital construction was completed and the cost was RM 1,618,100.00. It was officiated on 30th October 1937. The hospital area is 635 acres but the built up area is only 110 acres. The hospital is 16km from Johor Bahru town. The hospital was renamed as Johor Mental Hospital. 1941 World War II Singapore was bombed on 8thDecember 1941. The Australian army and staff had moved to Singapore a week before the Japanese army invaded Johor Bahru. During the Japanese invasion, the hospital was operating as usual and it had provided shelter for victims of the war. The Japanese invasion was an unforgettable tragedy when the Hospital director, Dr Perinbam and Dr. S.D Luther was brutally murdered in front of the hospital staff. 1945 The British was back in power. They had took over the hospital and converted it to Jungle Squad headquarter. 1951 The hospital started re-hiring staff. 1952 1st April 1952, the hospital began it operation post war. Dr Ratnasamy, followed by Dr David Lennox became the medical superintendent. Dr D. Lennox is the first psychiatrist in the hospital. He had made a lot of change in treatment for mental illness. 1972 The Honourable, Tun Sardon Hj. Zubir, the Minister in Ministry of Health had officially named the hospital as Hospital Permai. 2012 In March 2012, Hospital Permai had moved into a new location in Persiaran Kempas Baru. Hospital Permai began to shift towards new direction. The numbers of beds was markedly reduced. Patient’s treatment is more focused in the community. Rehabilitation program such as Supported Employment and Social Enterprise are the highlight. This new rehabilitation approaches have attracted many agencies from all over Malaysia as well as outside Malaysia such as Thailand, Cambodia, Japan, Italy, Hong Kong, Indonesia and South Korea

A source told the daily that: “The suspect, who understands the local residential market due to his job with a developer, acts in a very professional manner and has also managed to convince several people, including civil servants, who are keen to buy or own a house. “His modus operandi is to meet his potential victims at the residential area in the Bandar Datuk Onn area for them to view the homes in a convincing manner.” Potential customers were given choices such as entry-level, single-storey or double-storey linked homes and they have to pay a “booking fee” of just RM5,000.

The huge number of residential units coming up in Johor, particularly in Iskandar, the development zone coming up to the south of the state, has raised the concern of the Singapore Government. This is because a glut could cause a fall in property values. The following are five reasons to be more careful when looking to buy across the border.

Again you want to be so dependent on the government. People like you will never make it successfully. Look at all those who dare to venture, both in business or abroad. These are the people I respect, not those who kpkb all day to say that their government doesn't take care of them. You mean you want your government to take care of you from cradle to grave? Then you better go to join the Commies.

We don't want to be dependent on the government but they control every facet of our lives, so they have the moral obligation to take care of those who get screwed by their polices.

Private hire cars, personal mobility devices, bike sharing, airBnb, facebook are all instances when the heavy hand of the government has interceded and affected our daily lives. They are ill-equiped to regulate the new economy and constantly muck up.

Regulators refusing to regulate have resulted in billions of dollars in lost savings by many tens of thousands of individual bond holders.

And frankly you taking the moral high ground for simply having attended the wake is highly unpalatable. Makes me wanna puke.

The list goes on. We're not talking about cradle to grave state socialism here, but simply a government that has screwed up in many areas yet always escapes accountability.

Heads must roll.

Bye bye to your attap house value .
It turning into paper house.
Cheers and enjoy while u can.

Ok, case closed. Just wait for the outcome of the COI. Anyway, I'm 100% sure there will also be Sinkie traitors who will continue to defy whatever the outcome from the COI. Be prepared for these ungrateful Sinkie traitors' reactions.

Is it all Al's fault 10 secs notwithstanding? Could he had a fainting spell, a momentary blackout, then? Whether Al horse around or whatever, he paid heavily with his own life.

The important issue is accountability. Could the minister, the policy makers and Mindef do better? Can the death be prevented then and especially in the future? We are talking about death. What about injuries? What ever happened to "The buck stops here"?

Is there a need to wait for the forgone conclusion of the COI? With the interest of the pap such much at stake given the impending election, do you ever think the COI will point the finger the useless million dollar paid minister?

Come on, even when the NRIC clearly state Indian, the outcome ended up as a Malay. What more do you want?

With your pm and not-my-president keeping so quiet... what kind of COI outcome do you want?

To ignore what the pap has done at the expense of Singaporeans is the real Sinkie traitors and you are one of them.

Tell that to the 70%. See if you can convince them.

You mean to say if you can't make it in Singapore, the government has a moral obligation to take care of you. Like that, how many of these suckers will they have to look after? Thereafter, I'm sure you'll say, why use tax payers' money for all these?
