To ignore what the pap has done at the expense of Singaporeans is the real Sinkie traitors and you are one of them.
To constantly trying to stir shit and come to unfounded conclusion and trying to pull down Singapore with whatever means possible is the true Sinkie traitors. These Sinkies traitors just can't wait to see the downfall of Singapore. If they are foreigners, I can still understand, but not when they are Sinkies themselves. When you talk to the regional people outside of Singapore, do you know numerous of them are so envious of Singapore and its achievement? Tell me how can they be wrong?

Tell that to the 70%. See if you can convince them.

You mean to say if you can't make it in Singapore, the government has a moral obligation to take care of you. Like that, how many of these suckers will they have to look after? Thereafter, I'm sure you'll say, why use tax payers' money for all these?

They only have to look after the bottom 20%. Concept of universal basic income is not a new one.

I grew up in easier times when all we had to do before retirement was to achieve the 5Cs. A lot of us got there, some earlier than others, only to realize that it was only the beginning, not the end of the journey.

Many of us bred and sired offsprings. And we want something better for them. I can only say one thing for certain about the current government: they lack the vision to take us forward to SG75, let alone SG100.

More of the same for the next 25 years isn't going to make things better.

Regulators refusing to regulate have resulted in billions of dollars in lost savings by many tens of thousands of individual bond holders.
Many years ago, I invested S$500k into a Templeton Unit Trust. Upon redemption, it only returned S$350k. Do I blame the government? No because the government did not ask me to go into this investment. Thereafter, with a little more topping up, I went directly into shares myself and recoup my loses within 18 months and made even more. From then on, I learn never to believe in Unit Trusts ever again.

I do not wish to rehash the old arguments here. It's been covered comprehensively in another thread.

Suffice to say, regulators have betrayed investors and formulated new laws favouring restructuring.

With the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore high-speed rail (HSR) aborted, Singapore’s Jurong Lake District could lose some of its shine. However, the ramifications for Iskandar Malaysia in Johor could be more far-reaching. After all, Iskandar Malaysia — which is three times the size of Singapore — was always regarded as Singapore’s potential hinterland. The HSR would have been instrumental in completing that connection. The planned HSR project has seven stations in Malaysia: Bandar Malaysia, followed by Putrajaya, Seremban, Melaka, Muar, Batu Pahat and Iskandar Puteri, before terminating in Jurong East, Singapore. Iskandar Malaysia has been suffering from a glut in high-rise condominiums and lacklustre sales since Malaysia introduced property cooling measures in 2014. The HSR and the station at Iskandar Puteri would have been a much-needed shot in the arm to revive its fortunes.

Exit Strategy? Let’s say, for whatever reason, the time has come for you to sell this property of yours. Now, before we talk about making or losing money, let’s talk about the 2 primary factors that will effect your ability to do so: The RM1,000,000 lower purchase limit on foreigners, and the fact that most properties launched are priced between RM500,000 and RM1,000,000. Oops. You have to remember that these projects are not made to be affordable for the locals; They’re there to maximize profits from foreigners (read: Singaporeans) with cash to spare. So, unless the government lowers the limit or there’s a miracle spike in property prices, the limit effectively eliminates all foreigners as potential buyers for your property. How can you sell.. when there are no buyers?

Clearly reflects the incapability of Chinese Helicopters. I was damned right. This is how idiotic they will become and resort to when they know they cannot win anymore.

I think you should not speak on behalf of the general population. During the government's plan to restructure the public bus system by implementing the bus contracting model back in 2014, immediately you get a lot of condemnations. Those who don't take the public transport had voiced their opposition and said: why must I subsidize the bus commuters when I have my own car and I don't even take the public transport. But eventually, the government still went ahead ignoring the cries from the elites.
