Singapore appointed 2 idiots to lead the task force.

Lawrence had an interesting intergenerational conversation.

A few years ago, I got to know about Christie through a friend, @bluesloong. Christie was learning to play the guitar at the Timbre Music Academy (Little Arts Academy) and I gave her a guitar to motivate and inspire her to play more.
Was happy to meet Christie recently and to see her enjoying the guitar! We even had the chance to play a song together — I’ll share more soon

Many of you know that I like to play the guitar to unwind. Unfortunately, I have not had the chance to play frequently due to work and also the pandemic.
Recently, I managed to take some time out to jam with a band — Raw Earth & Friends — and also a young friend, Christie.
We played a number of classic tunes including a local song, Orang Singapura — if you didn’t know, this is by Zubir Said, composer of our National Anthem!
I hope you like it. Wishing all a Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

In our pandemic fight over the past three years, we have reaffirmed our values and renewed our trust in one another.
This was only possible thanks to the resilience and spirit of every one of you. We remained united despite the tough circumstances. Many stepped forward to help the vulnerable, and to assist at the frontlines of the pandemic. Many worked tirelessly behind the scenes to keep Singapore going.
In recognition of your sacrifices and public spirit, more than 100,000 individuals and teams from the public, private and people sectors, including in particular the public healthcare sector, will receive the National Awards (Covid-19) and the Covid-19 Resilience Medal.
Your stories of sacrifice and hard work are an inspiration to all of us. You are our heroes.
Congratulations to all recipients!

The Circuit Breaker and the subsequent safe management measures kept many Singaporeans home-bound, including the elderly and vulnerable amongst us. Many volunteers took it upon themselves to run errands, and deliver meals to them. Our kampung spirit makes us stronger as one people.

To help curb the spread of the virus, schools switched to home-based learning during the Circuit Breaker. Our schools, teachers, students and parents rose to the challenge – they continued delivering engaging lessons and made sure students remained well, mentally and physically.

To support Covid-19 vaccination efforts, numerous vaccination centres were set up across the island, so that Singaporeans can keep themselves and their loved ones safe.

Our elderly were most at risk of getting infected. We reached out to them through various platforms, including volunteers who went door-to-door to share the benefits of vaccination and to also help them book their vaccination appointments.

2022 has had its fair share of challenges. But working together, we have overcome them and made it this far.
For now, there are still continued uncertainties about the pandemic, including the latest infection wave in China.
But we are in a much stronger position today. We have achieved relatively high hybrid immunity in our community. That’s why our local infection situation has been relatively stable in recent months. We will do our utmost to maintain our current trajectory, and I hope we will eventually be able to put Covid-19 in the rear view mirror.
Of course, we cannot take anything for granted. We will continue to stay vigilant and be prepared for new curveballs and surprises, be it from the pandemic or other challenges. What’s most important is for us to continue to work together - our unity, resilience and perseverance will continue to help us overcome any obstacles and thrive against all odds.
Wishing everyone good health, peace and happiness for the coming year!
