The Singapore Hokkien Cultural Festival (新加坡福建文化节) is back after five years of hiatus!
Hokkien is the largest Chinese dialect group in Singapore. We can be proud of a rich Hokkien culture, heritage and tradition. In our diverse multi-racial society, Hokkien customs and traditions have also evolved with influences from other ethnic communities. All this is what makes our Singaporean identity so distinctive and special!
If you are free, come on down to the 新加坡福建会馆 Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan at Telok Ayer. Try out the food, especially the mee sua, yam porridge, and glutinous rice

As we enter the holidays, we also celebrate the spirit of charity and fellowship.
This year marks the 35th anniversary of the Share-a-Gift project by the Boys' Brigade. When the project was started in 1988, there was only one collection gift point in Orchard Rd. And now, The Boys' Brigade in Singapore collects gifts from all over Singapore for those who need it in our community.
After the past few years of the pandemic, we are glad to be able to look forward to a full resumption of activities for Christmas and for our Year-End celebrations. And I hope we continue to take part in the spirit of fellowship, and look out for each other in our community.

Every 2 years, Ministry of Finance (Singapore) releases the Singapore Public Sector Outcomes Review (SPOR) - it takes stock of how we are faring in key areas of national interest, from how we are providing opportunities for all, to quality and sustainable living, and our shared future in the world.
Through the review, we can better understand what we are doing well, and where we need to further improve. I'm glad that despite the challenges from the pandemic, we have all pulled together to build a better home, and support each other.
There is still much to do for us to shape a better

When I think of my earliest role model, I think of my mother. She is tenacious and resilient. I learnt many life lessons from her, and she made me who I am today.
With women playing such pivotal roles in all our lives, we have to continue empowering and equalising opportunities for women in Singapore.
Kudos to organisations like the PPIS Singapore Muslim Women's Assn (PPIS), which in collaboration with LBKM, has launched a post-graduate scholarship for women in fields like STEM! Congrats also to PPIS on its 70th anniversary.
Together, we can all make a difference.
