Siao liao. 837 cases liao. Going towards 1000

The advantage of the mRNA vaccine is that it can easily be tweaked to deal with mutations.

However because of a huge stockpile of the stuff that was formulated to deal with the Alpha variant the message that is being pushed is that it is "still effective" even if the efficacy has dropped to a mere 10% or less.

I still believe that a vaccine that generates antibodies to deal with more than just the S protein is the way to go. mRNA vaccines, if they prove to do no long term harm, can still be used as a short term stop gap measure but for longer lasting immunity an attenuated virus vaccine surely is a more sustainable solution.
I am not medically trained to offer any comment on this.

"I shouldn't have waited."
In the final video posted on her TikTok account, Megan Alexandra Blankenbiller pleaded with her followers not to make the same mistake she did — waiting to get the COVID-19 vaccine — that eventually cost her her life.

Megan Alexandra Blankenbiller became sick before she was able to get the COVID-19 vaccine. She spent her final days in the hospital trying to help others avoid the same mistake.

Blankenbiller, or @atasteofalex on TikTok, died of COVID-19 last month after documenting her journey with the virus through a series of short videos. She first announced that she'd gotten COVID-19 on Aug. 13 with a video of herself in the hospital. In the caption, she urged others: "DO NOT WAIT TO GET VACCINATED! Go now!!"
It was a sentiment that she echoed in her next three videos.

In one video, she dispelled the misconception that those who are vaccinated cannot get COVID-19 and explained that it helps your body withstand the virus if you do get it. In her next, she said she'd been afraid to get the vaccine. She also said that since she'd been at the hospital, she'd been hearing the "moans and the screams of people in pain" — the grief of those who had likely lost their loved ones.
In her final video, filmed in a hospital bed as the others had been, she admitted that it was getting harder to talk but shared her own story: She was not against vaccines but had been taking time to research and wanted to get vaccinated at the same time as her family — a decision she said she came to regret.

"I do think it was a mistake. I shouldn't have waited," she said. "If you are even 70% sure that you want the vaccine, go get it. Don't wait. Go get it because hopefully if you get it, then you won't end up in the hospital like me, OK?"
Blankenbiller died nine days after her last video was posted Aug. 15, CNN reported. She was 31. Before her death, she'd made appointments to get vaccinated with her mother and sisters, but she became sick before she was able to get the vaccine, according to WebMD.

Blankenbiller's story is similar to many that have been shared in recent months of those who did not get vaccinated but, after contracting COVID-19, wished they had. Some of those people have begun encouraging others to get the shot. Health officials have said they hope these stories will raise vaccination rates and save lives.

No he won't. You give the MIW way too much credit or discredit for everything. You really shouldn't pay too much attention to politicians and just think of your own personal protection and your loved ones. They will say what he hell they want to say because it's their job.

Following the central dogma, the mRNA should just trigger the production of the protein coded for, good to note that mRNA is also unstable on its own and would degrade quickly.

Only thing is we haven’t afforded time to look at the the long term effects of the downstream cascade from this wonderful experiment. These big pharmas should be glad that this global petri dish is funding their research. Feels good to be a lab rat, aye?

mRNA disappears after a few days . How can it cause long term harm ?

If mRNA can just disappear it defies the 1st law of thermodynamics. You certainly are on to something here.

Fat lump of lard would probably have died soon anyway.

Careful what you say. I have been accused of being cold blooded and cursed with karma when I was skeptical about the foul-mouthed crying butch cussing about vaccination in another thread.

yes declining

Based upon your definition of "declining" it was declining in the beginning of September too. I think the jury is still out on what the trend is.

What is truly shocking is that the deaths per million of a fully vaccinated country could actually be higher than a country where less than 40% are fully vaccinated.

I'm beginning to wonder whether there is any point vaxxing people with a vaccine that is already out of date.

yes it's out of date hence there is a need for boosters

and as the good doctor said in ST mRNA vaccines can be tweaked to respond to the latest variant

just like annual flu shots . You don't use the flu shot from 2018 for this year because the virus has mutated

so now are you pro or anti vaccine ?

make up your mind

Sam is neither pro nor antivaxx. When everyone says this, he will say it's that. I am very familiar with his debate lines and I have given up on going down the rabbit hole with debating him.

He is a waste of time.

Nowhere in any of her videos did she advise her followers to keep fit and avoid ending up morbidly obese which would have been far more prudent advice than bleating about vaccines.

can't blame him

his job is to poke people in the eye for the amusement of the rest of the fuckwits in this forum

otherwise it gets boring

Exactly right. It's a waste of time to debate anything with him.

Of course I'm pro vaccine. I've stated umpteen times that I have had just about every vaccine under the sun. The only vaccine I have not had is the HPV vaccine because my doc laughed when I asked for it. He obviously had the impression that I was way past the window of risk.

What I am against is hypocrisy. The mRNA vaccines obviously aren't working anymore but of course nobody wants to say so because it would cost Pfizer millions and they obviously have a lot of clout.

mRNA vaccines can be tweaked quickly but the problem is that there are hundreds of millions of doses already in the pipeline between production and the end user so while production can easily be tweaked by the time the patient gets the shot it could well be out of date again.

Ref the influenza shot a lot of it is guesswork but it's an educated guess based upon prevailing data. There have been years when the quadrivalent concoction absolutely missed the mark because the wrong call was made and the predominant strain of influenza was not one of the four that had been anticipated.

The end result is a huge number of deaths but they aren't newsworthy so the average joe is blissfully ignorant.

I say it again. I am pro pro pro vaccine.
