Samsung Galaxy SIII Available Tomorrow From 9 PM

OK it seems that the galaxy SIII also uses a micro sim card. So now i know 4 phones that use micro sim. iphone4, 4s, HTC one X and galaxy sIII. Seems like wiki doesn't have a list of phones that use micro sims but many sim cards sold world wide are still normal sized.

Finally managed to find one list in a forum

http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Le...of-devices-that-need-a-micro-sim/td-p/3277327

The current list is

  • iPad 1/2/ 3 (the new iPad)
  • iPhone 4/4S
  • Motorola Droid Razr (Spyder)
  • Nokia Lumia 710
  • Nokia Lumia 800
  • Nokia N9
  • Panasonic P-02D Lumix 3D phone
  • Sony Xperia S
  • HTC One S
  • HTC One X
  • Samsung Galaxy SIII

Still doesn't look like a big enough list. I still think the normal sim card market won't be slowing down any time soon so many phone models using normal sim.

IPad also use micro sim card, lol

Is this the 16GB version or the 32GB version? There's 2 versions of the note. SG only sells the 16GB version. If you have the 32GB version you can buy a class 10 64GB micro SD card so that your phone will now have a storage capacity of almost a 100GB. ip4s won't have that much space.

Why not you buy the sim card cutter?

Never thought about cutter but leche la I think get Note solve the problem liao.

ya lor leche also the small pin thing to poke into the sim card tray to remove it for the iphone is another troublesome thing.

Seriously one time I was desperate I used a sharp toothpick.

Can tried it before liao. So the price of $925 is ok?

How many GB is the internal storage? Many ppl buy their phones from the telecos cos they get a discount on the phone due to phone contract. 925 should be fine.

I bought the S3, 16G, white, because the only type available.

I did not buy iphone, because i cannot watch HD video on it, i do not want to spend time to convert them
and S3 support those HD files very well, and the video is very clear and smooth

only problem is HD anime mkv file, hardware acceleration not supported, so i have to use rockplayer software, i can see it, but when too much movement, it shows pixel distortions, and no sub title. So it fail to work on these files.

The back cover is so light and flex so much. i afraid it might break apart if i take it apart often.

The screen is huge and very clear. The phone is very fast and very light. I think the fastest phone now. Too bad anime HD does not work with my [gg] files.

I still need to test and learn it.

why the big speaker is at the back of the phone? it is near the lens of camera? so when i play video on public place, it really loud for others. Not solid as my gen 1 iphone. so light, it feel strange when compare to an iphone.

shit, my itune video files cannot be play by samsung, i can only see the reason are trying to punish itune users, nothing more nothing less. damn you samsung. disappointing.

The video player in S3 is amazing for non itune files, anywhere you put on the phone or the memory card, it will appear there, and after some time, it will read it turn it into a moving video icon. AMAZING.

if you are going to get a phone, then get one which has ics already installed. no problem for such phone i guess.

i am using note and can only speak for note. no problem till now.

i heard in us that updates are controlled by those carriers and phone manufacturers as well. do singapore do that also? android seem to have updating issue because of that and they are rectifying the problem with ics?

Well it's a given that mobile devices won't be able to play all the video files available BUT let's be honest the android phones can play a bigger variety of video types compared to the iphone. In any case you can always use the PC to convert the mkv files to another format in which the phone can play it smoothly. If you have the i7 cpu series 2nd generation which has onboard graphics it's very easy and it takes a short time to convert video files into another format in which mobile devices can play them.

Why on earth would you want to watch videos on a phone in the first place???? If you want to enjoy HD, get yourself a 50" screen not a 4.3" one.

Actually come to think of it only vidoes shown on a certain screen size can be considered "HD" videos. Full HD is the magic res of 1920 x 1080. I also remember that monitors that are not able to show videos at this res will never be considered real HD vids or full hd cos i think 1260 x 720 is the res in which HD but not in full HD but STILL hd is the res in which the res is at.

In any case if you want to talk in technical terms a phone's screen would never be able to display it at 1920 x 1080 p.
