Png: 'I took my name out of NCMP list

This is why I feel LTK might have dug a deeper hole. Is it so damn difficult for Png to admit that he made a mistake ? It's not dishonesty if you're let down by your command of the language or that if you were mistaken. But if you keep on twisting and turning, don't blame people for casting negative imputations.

agree on all counts, me was relooking at Png at a different light earlier on. saw him speak at the rally, me did shake my head on his language abilities.

hey, something's more important and that thing is to be able to connect with the folks on the ground. so what if we all could write in perfect English, talk until phee-lee-phay-ley, got dragon got tiger but no contents get across to the masses, also lan lan right? :p:p:p

not easy for these folks, me guess, but think they are trying really hard :o:o:o

For goodness sake, they have already decided who to vote for.

bro,
read the StraitsTimes the other day and there was a report stating that one of the former PAP MP believes that the voters are undecided, you know? :D:D:D

Ask Goh Meng Seng it is not a PAP mole. It is a buay song CEC member in the WP.

Frankly, they really should have chosen Ah Poh instead of this I took my name out of the ballot Png.

infernal affairs lah.
good also maybe this incident can flush out the pappie mole.

teo cheebye hean,

is this BE about contetsing for a NCMP or MP post? why the hell you keep harping on the NCMP issue :oIo:

hi there

1. aiyoh!
2. such daft sheep is just following its orders from the grand masters.
3. vomitting the same agenda/stuff over & over again!
4. "eat full very free" nothing much to do.
5. must appear to be doing things mah.

When i look at Png, i feel a sense of lack of confidence and conviction. Could it be his bad habit of beginning his sentences with "i think...."?

made my rounds to the few kopitiams earlier this morning, it's the party these folks are voting for :):):)
could still make a difference of 1 vote if you're one of the 23K folks.

I'm shocked, to say the least. Who would have thought that a former PAP MP would try to influence voters by painting a more favourable picture for the PAPzis?

PAP mole cannot infiltrated CEC?

He is hopeless at all languages it seems. Did you hear him try to speak Teochew?

I consider it shallow to only measure a candidate's suitability by his personal attributes - language skills, academic achievements, job experience, all that can be listed down on a piece of paper. All these can be taught and most of the time given.

The more I look at the formulaic way these people speak and behave, the more I am convinced there is nothing original and individualistic under the front. That is why you often see when left alone to make decisions they often failed badly.

It is like finding a marriage partner - looking for someone who is handsome/pretty, good in sports, can do this, can do that. What has that to do with you? All these attributes could be very well be best used for benefiting themselves.

You should direct this question to the DPM.

Some forummer has already said that he is not good at languages. So why go splitting hairs when the main point of contention whether he wanted the NCMP or not and whether he had informed others (LTK and East Coast GRC members) so that he won't be selected, have been fully corroborated by everyone mentioned, even by Eric Tan who resigned in anger. The only exception is Mohd Fazli who was not present at the gathering. There is no case to prove dishonesty here. I cannot see why the DPM would want to put himself into this blind alley.

So what if you can prove that Png is not WP's best guy at the time the NCMP was being decided? Since everyone else is either already in Parliament or had resigned, he can still be argued to be the best guy to stand as candidate. For strategic reasons, in fact, WP need not put in their best guy, just someone who can serve the constituency well. The best guy could be reserved for a later BE or GE e.g. Tanjung Pagar :wink:wink.

To argue on such trifles does not bode well for the DPM's status. We expect more, much more.

A lot of people seemed to equate communication skill with language skills. Inspite of his language defects, Png's rally speech was very effective and enjoyed good audience rapport. Can't assess Desmond's performance in this area, though. His crowd was too small.
