Uncles shout at each other because of pushing on crowded bus

STOMPer Rara was on bus 142 at about 9.50pm yesterday (Jul 14) when she saw two uncles quarrelling because one had apparently pushed the other while trying to get off the bus.

The STOMPer comments:

"I was on bus 142 at 9.50pm or so when this man suddenly raised his voice at another middle aged man who was getting off the bus.

"These two men were about to get into a fight but an uncle quickly ran forward to stop them.

"This guy then asked the other to come back into the bus and confronted him saying that he had pushed him repeatedly.

"He replied that it was because he was blocking the way, while the other guy responded by asking "You want to fight is it?" and said he could get off the bus to fight.

"The nice uncle eventually got the confronter to say sorry.

"During the fight, some aunties were telling the bus uncle to just close the doors and drive off.

"Most of the people on the bus just seemed really annoyed that they were fighting over such a small matter.

"The videos don't show the tussle at the start of this incident because I couldn't capture it in time.

"The first video is of the uncle who stopped them getting him to apologise, he even asked if he was satisfied now.

"Second video shows the confronter explaining why he was angry after the bus driver drove off from the bus stop."

There's no other cheaper alternatives except for walking or bicycling. I doubt walking is practical as people have to get to work on time.. I think the best is to use a bicycle, it is more healthy & save the planet.

However when enough Sporeans take to bicycling I bet the "authorities" will start imposing ERP on bicycle usage.

That's why fares need to be increased. The marginal group that can currently only just afford the bus fares will be forced to find some other form of transport like walking or cycling. The hike will ease the congestion immediately without the bus company having to make any capital investment whatsoever.
