Fuck your economy.
And be at the mercy of your creditors one day .... look at Greece.
It's the economy, stupid.
Fuck your economy.
That is just the question of how. but it is a fair question because if we don't plan correctly, we will end up with the down side which is overcrowding, poor quality of life, congestion, disharmony, clashes of culture and so on.
If the PAP cannot plan well in the next 5 to 10 years and the result is overcrowding, yes they deserve to be voted out.
We are living in an overcrowded city now, aren't we?
The idea of importing foreigners is not to bring boatload of refugees into Singapore. Only the select few who has the qualifications and talents will be accepted. There will be a certain % of low wage workers ( construction and the like ) that we will need to have no matter how, but the government is more targeting at the high talent cluster when they talk about growing the population to 6.9M. If we do not attract these talents, they will go somewhere.
The concept is not new. That how's the Silicon Valley in California is able to harness the strengths and talents of many immigrants to forge a technological leadership in the world. Singapore has wanted to be the financial hub, educational hub and medical / biotechnology hub in South East Asia. That strategy has to be drafted in unfortunately due to our limited talents and resources.
If you really think about it, the only resource that Singapore has is its people. And therefore, there is a critical need to ensure that we have the best people talents to continue to build and grow the economy.
isnt that what we trying to do?bringing a whole boatload of refugees into our country every year?silicon valley my ass,do you even live in this country?open your eyes and take a good look at what jobs most of these foreign garbage in our country are doing.mostly low value jobs like driving trains, buses, working in factories, manning retail shops in shopping malls, working fast food restaurants,or working in kitchens cooking our nasi lemak and curry chicken, constructing condos and roads.80 percent of the trash our government end up working low value jobs and bloating our economy and making us overcrowded, they dont really contribute any high value skills or knowledge to us,they are cheap labour for christ sake.go look at the trash on our buses and mrts during peak hours for christ sake,do this foreign smucks look like middle class citizens and rich elites and professionals earning big bucks?the only bunch that resembles middle class are the rich indian nationals and ang mohs that live near me at tanjong rhu.
our economy is pyramid shaped for christ sake, the rich and the corporations pay low taxes.there is absolutely no reason at all to bring high value individuals into our country cause we dont tax them jackshit, compared to australia and scandinavia where taxes can go as high as 32.5% to 40%.our goal is merely to import more and more human bodies to power this ponzi economy and create wealth for those at the top and companies.
Doggie's father and mother also migrated to Perth and his artist father mati oredi and buried in Perth.
While Doggie's family resides on an one acre block at Peppermint Cove (Perth equivalent to Nassim Road), S'poreans can squeeze among 10m population.
You see these foreigners working as bus drivers, waitresses, construction workers, maids. That's because you happen to frequent the places where these jobs are seen. And yes, the jobs are done by mostly foreigners and rightly so because Singaporeans are highly educated. They are working at higher value add jobs like accountants, engineers, educationists, bankers, lawyers , doctors, medical researchers, business owners and entrepreneurs.
There will always be a certain % of low wage workers that we need the foreigners to backfill the slack as Singaporeans move up the value chain.
Have you been to CBD ?
There are large parts of land in the west and north areas that are not built up for residential and commercial yet.
When we say we are overcrowded, we are looking mainly at the central part of Singapore. The population growth idea is to "spread out" the residential , commercial and leisure components to all parts of the Singapore to maximize usage. You can see that in near future the MRT is also expanding to cover both the east , west and north areas.
No I havent.how big is the cbd?im a poker player iv been to home poker games in every part of singapore, boon lay, bukit panjang, yew tee, yishun, khatib, clementi, hougang, punngol, red hill, outram, tampines, bugis, paya lebar, macperson, pasir ris, marine parade, woodlands, serangoon, siglap.everywhere I go I see the same shit, the same garbage, masses and masses of cockroaches, where is this foreigner middle class u talking about where do they stay?this is what u call high value economy?
Only difference is the type of cockroaches u find in different locations.yishun lots of tiong cockroaches, serangoon lots of shitskin, woodlands lots of mudland cockroaches, boon lay is mixed, tiong and bangra roaches, hougang mainly bangra shitskin, aljunied macpherson mostly tiong.
...because Singaporeans are highly educated. They are working at higher value add jobs like accountants, engineers, educationists, bankers, lawyers , doctors, medical researchers, business owners and entrepreneurs....
Have you ever thought where your ancestors come from ?
In essence what u r saying is Singapore will be just one big estate. No open forested areas! Be careful what u wish for! U will prob get it but I am not sure u will like it!
......bringing a whole boatload of refugees into our country every year?....look at what jobs most of these foreign garbage in our country are doing.mostly low value jobs like driving trains, buses, working in factories, manning retail shops in shopping malls, working fast food restaurants,or working in kitchens cooking our nasi lemak and curry chicken, constructing condos and roads....
Yes, that is one problem about retaining the real flora and fauna in Singapore. However, if we are true and honest to ourselves, we have also rarely visited those forested places. So, what's difference does it make to convert those forested areas for liveable areas in future ?
We still have our World Heritage Site if we want to see trees and orchids.
...it is almost a foregone conclusion that Singapore has to bring in more foreigners to top up the slack in order to keep the economy growing...
We are living in an overcrowded city now, aren't we?
.....If we do not attract these talents, they will go somewhere.
.....Rather, it is *voters* who must be ruthlessly rational. If a govt is bad, then it is time to vote them out. As simple as that.
And be at the mercy of your creditors one day .... look at Greece.
