Old Fart's will was originally prepared by his wife, and updated by her niece after her death. Old Fart and his wife agreed while they were alive that their home was not to used as a shrine/tourist attraction/monument/, and hence it should be demolish after their death. If their daughter Ling wanted to live in the house, then it would be demolish after she no longer lives there.
The will gives one third ownership share in Oxley to each of the 3 children. The will was not contested after his death. Not even by Lee Hsien Loong. Sometime after Old Fart's death, a strategy meeting took place in the Loong household. It involved the succession process for Loong. Whore Jinx pushed the agenda to have The Red One (TRO) succeed to the imperial throne after a suitable short term seat warmer was found. The best plan put forth was to link the founder Old Fart's name and status to TRO so that he could ride some of his deceased grandfather's coat tail into politics. An important part of this plan was the preservation of Oxley, so that generations of young, brainwashed, singaporean primary school kids can be paraded through the premises on school trips to view the home of the Great Lee. Keeping Old Fart alive in the mind of Sinkies was decidedly beneficial for linking TRO to him.
Jinx and Loong approached the other 2 siblings and explained the plan to them, hoping that they will support their nephew TRO and agree to prevent the house from being demolished and to be turned into a shrine for Old Fart. Their calculations of support from Yang and Ling backfired badly. Instead of support, Yang and Ling took the opposite view and refused to play ball. Ling accused Loong of trying to hero worship Old Fart and for promoting a political dynasty for TRO. Yang's wife Suet Fern was of the view "why your son, why not mine?. Both siblings intended to carry out Papa Lee's wishes and demolish Oxley when Ling vacates it. The rift between Loong and his siblings was hence set.
At this point, Whore Jinx and Loong realized they had a fight on their hands. And took preemptive measures against the siblings and make them play ball, while at the same time advancing the TRO agenda. To lull the 2 siblings into a false sense of security, Loong approached them and offered to sell them his 1/3 share in Oxley. By buying this 1/3 share, the 2 siblings would be in total and sole ownership of Oxley and hence can do what they want with it. Loong would then walk away and wash his hands off Oxley as he has no more ownership and hence no more say in Oxley. This happened and Yang paid Loong $20 million for the one third share. the siblings thought that was the end of that.
But alas no. That was a decoy, a feint. Loong played out Yang and Ling by then planning to gazette Oxley and turn it into a historic monument or something of that sort. He could have done that before taking the $20 million from Yang. And in fact, if Yang knew of the planned gazette, he would not have paid a penny to Loong. He paid Loong $20 million and could still lose the house if it was gazetted. This is a clear case of Corruption and Conflict of interest by Loong. He used his political office to squeeze money from his brother and then still take control of the property from him.
Part 2 of the strategy against the siblings was to intimidate and threaten them. Yang and his wife had to hurriedly leave for Hong Kong, when the intimidations became too much. Ling is made of much sterner stuff and has really no immediate family that could be used as a pawn. So, she stayed and carried on in Singapore.
Part 3 was to make sure that Yang and Suet Fern's boy never became a threat to TRO. hence charges was made against Shengwu on the flimsiest of reasons. He cannot return to Singapore and he will now have a criminal record. And he is no threat anymore to TRO.
So, there you have it. U want to know why Pinky and the Jinx are doing what they did, just refer here.
