Chitchat Old malay songs.. enjoy..

Oh yes. The trio....S Shamsuddin and Aziz Sattar. Actually teres few more actors as comical as former and latter. Actors like A.R.Tompel, Ibrahim Din, Udor Omar, M Zain...just to name a few...
my favourite Malay actor also P Ramlee , the only Malay movies I ever watch , incidentally he is a Minang from Padang ...unfortunately , he was never given the recognition he deserved while he was alive and died a pauper , heard even his funeral was a charity and he lived by nasi lemak as meals but was very charitable to the needy when he had money

Actually Allahyarham P Ramlee dont really passed away as a pauper. He was a simple man. He had a car, a house. Cukup. He was an artiste, not a business man who only thought of making money. Doesnt spent lavishly like wat we see present celebrities in Hollywood or HKwood. Innalillah wa innailaihi rajiuun...

Those days, my time, many goodest Malay movies,
such as Pontianak...etc

@whoami
Rmb Mat Sentol?
He should be in his 80's now.

Yes. Pontianak very popular among the Malay folks those days. Nowadays tiada lagi. Those jinn also follow the environment/trend.:cautious:

Mat Sentol, comedian. But nowadays cant find any Malay artiste, even 50%, as talented as the late P Ramlee.:frown:

The star of those Pontianak movies was Wahid Satay.

Dont forget the lead actress in pontianak beautiful Maria Menado.

Who later married the sultan of Pahang

she lived in Siglap those days , I have never actually seen her but the sultan’ s car use to pass by East Coast rd ...but had seen several Malay actors , whose names I donch noe , sometimes sipping a small bottle of Guinness in shops along in the evening , perhaps after the shoot from the Cathay keris studio which was next to St Patrick’s school , where Jackie’s bowl was later built

The screening of the movie was prohibited later cos Maria Menado was married to the Sultan of Pahang.

Oh yes. Jackie's bowl....fond memories.....

Maria was from manado , the northern tip of Sulawesi , so she I figure is a minahassan , mostly christians though ethnically a Malay but closer to Filipinos not only in ethnicity but culture and others ...these are the people who regularly eats monkeys , bats and all sorts of things sold regularly in their markets

minahassan girls are quite Chio and quite screwable

think Maria manado later converted to Islam

I saw many of them in the flesh when I was a kid because I was working at the service station at the junction of east coast road and telok kurau road washing cars for pocket money. My Kampong was at Lorong L.

The Cathay Kris passenger van was a regular at the service station. The studio had an account there.
