14 candidates in total with 13 Chinese and 1 Malay. Zero Indians.

Both NSP and WP project a very Chinese orientated image. The need to compare status and titles of individual members with their PAP counterparts is a very Chinese trait.

It would appear NSP and WP have yet to develop any strategy to reach out to the Malay and Indian voters whose votes are needed to take any GRC. Both parties need to line up good Malay and Indian candidates with good grassroot connections.

Neither party appear to be making any progress in this direction.

It is very difficult to find Malay and Indian candidates. It is also very difficult to Malay able to speak proper Malay and Indian can speak proper Tamil and Punjabi. It is easy to get Malay and Indian can speak good English.

Today, most jobless who can not pass English during IR recruitment is Chinese. Opposition sure is Chinese speaking.

Chinese also had English Elite Chinese and Working Class Chinese Speaking Poor Chinese.

Speaking as a member of the minority race what you have uttered does not make any sense and you are simply making up excuses for the fact that neither NSP nor WP have done anything progressive to include or at least make minority races believe in their respective party's political vision. If there is a discerning one in the first place that is, other than simply hoping to bag disgruntled voters fed up with the PAP. I think this is the crux of problem for NSP and WP.

Excuses like it is difficult to find Malay and Indian candidates - really? Take a look at SDP. They have at least 3 out of 12 members who are from the minority race. That excludes the Jufries (one ex WP) and activtists like Seelan Pillay.

Why do the Malays and Indians avoid NSP and WP like the plague??

As for speaking in your mothertongue, as far as Indians are concerned that is not even necessary. James Gomez certainly did not address the rally crowds in Tamil or even Hindi/Punjabi. I can't ever remember JBJ ever speaking Tamil. Yet his WP was truly a multi-racial outfit.

As for Malays most of them can speak their mother tongue. No excuses there.

NSP and WP seem to be pandering to Chinese voters.

Keep in mind that you need minority candidates if you are to be even eligible to contest the GRCs. You have one token Malay candidate at present. Should he resign for some reason you have none and are stuck to contesting the few remaining SMCs.

WP is in the same predicament. Zero Indians and one Malay candidate.

If the PAP decides to gerrymender further and consolidate all of their GRCs including SMCs into 6 member GRC teams that must includes both an Indian/Eurasian and Malay candidate for representation, given the current situation, neither the WP or NSP will be elibible to contest the GE. The number of Chinese candidates or quality becomes meaningless.

The Chinese speaking Chinese Party, only know how to speak proper Chinese and base on The Improvement of Singaporean Social Walfare and helping the needy issues. They had big gap with English Speaking Chinese who had strong western theory. Malay Speaking Malay or Indian speaking Tamil still had Asian values.

It is no different between Malay and Indian who speaking English with the Chinese who Speaking English.

Asia Value:-

English Speak Chinese had do a lot failure, as we are Singaporean, we still respect them as Singapore Leaders. We will never down Singapore or Singaporean. Internal War mean lose homeland. Your brother do the mess, he had to clear the mess. This is call accountabilities.

What we need is to help the poor and needy. Our SAF shall be strong to defend Singapore. Our Police shall able to perform their duties to protect Singaporean freedom and securities.

Nobody leak of necessities like water, shelter, food, education, medication and so on.

Old folk Home, Free Food, free education, free shelter, free clinic, free hospital and so on are promoted by Chinese Speaking. You can check. Chinese Speaking never take rich as granted.

during GE, one would have noticed the lack of malays attending oppositions election rallies ( I don't know for PAP ) You do notice Indians attending the rallies though.

I would say the rally languages time - 50% is in English, 30% is in Mandarin, 20% is Hokkien with a token 5 minutes in Malay or Tamil. I don't know about catering to the minorities but if you spend 30 minutes talking in Malay, 3/4 of the crowd will probably make their way to the toilet.

But seriously, if I don't understand chinese, I wouldn't bother attending the rallies since I won't understand half of it.
But if the rallies don't have 50% Chinese speeches, many older chinese educated, don't understand english older folks won't come to the rallies either.

or have our Malays/Indians already make up their mind who to vote for on voting day so there no need to attend the opposition rallies.

Still no answer to the questions:

What has the opposition parties, NSP and WP in particular done in terms of reaching out to Malay and Indian voters?

Why both these parties have trouble recruiting minority candidates? Both NSP and WP have ZERO indian candidates. Why is that?

This is patently false. There are several Malays attending opposition rallies. Having attended rallies from the Eunos GRC days in the 80s I am very aware of the strong Malay support and presence for WP back in those days.

Both Francis Seow and Jufrie came within a hair's breadth of taking Eunos GRC from the PAP. Without the strong Malay support this would not have been possible.

The PAP reacted to limit the political influence of these minority voters by instituted the HDB racial quote back in the 80s to limit the proportion of these Malay voters who were congregating in areas in the east such as kaki bukit, geylang and bedok. The same applied to Indian voters.

Aljunied GRC which of which Eunos GRC was broken up and became a part of still has the significant numbers of these minority voters, although their numbers are becoming less and less as seen from the dwindling percentage for the WP in that GRC.

It would be in the WP and NSP interest to attempt to reach out to this voters. Ethnic political parties - in this case Chinese political parties will become irrelevant. Just ask the Malay party PKMS that became extinct after the GRC scheme was introduced.

Most of Malay and Indian Vote PAP. Less Malay and Indian Vote Opposition.

Minorities English Speaking Oppostion do not had Asian Value. They go to USA, EU, Australia, New Zealand and so on to down Singapore. They make Singaporean ashame to vote PAP. If we support them, we be remak as HAN JIAN. It is nothing diffferent to help Japanese to kill Singaporean.

You can see NSP. NSP plan for free food, free drink, free education, free clinic, free hospital, free ambulan, free furneral as per http://redstar-cf.tripod.com/ and http://redstarfoundation.blogspot.com/ . Everybody think for me and I will think for everybody. From the people, by the people and for the people.

It is very hard to get a Malay or Indian who understand Chinese and asian value. That is why many Chinese defend for Social Welfare and Helping needy die in world war two.

Why is help for the downtrodden in Singapore split along racial lines?

The Malays and Indians are heavily marginalized with resources skewed towards the 75% Chinese, even though the Malays and Indians have a higher than proportionate individuals needing assistance.

Take a look at the recruitment for BMT. Those slated for the leadership platoons are mostly the Chinese cause they are better educated with a min of at least a poly or A level. While the Malays make up the sheer numbers for the non-leadership roles (eg: drivers and storeman).

If this does not tell you how lopsided the resources are skewered I don't know what will.
