Because you don't get to employ 'decent' chaps and your customers are no Sunday worshippers. Nightclub bosses, most of them, alleged to be laundering money. Some even accused of pimping their hostesses. Majority of customers also the ruffian type. Sleaze indeed. A different world altogether compared to offices and factories. But you get the privilege of discovering strange and interesting stories.

My interest in this thread is simply this. Why are you blaming others and not the terrorists who senselessly killed innocent people? Why not blame the Indians for not preventing so many other lives lost? If you kenna chopped like Darren Ng, you should go after the chopper not the police, owner of Downtown East or the Minister.


Why witchhunt? Does it makes you feel any better? Does it solve the problem? Is it able to prevent future massacre such as the Mumbai terrorism attack?

I also expressed my regret over lhl's stupidity that caused Hwei Yen's demise. I hope he has wised up over the years and learnt from this saga.

If I may add, even if none of your citizens are held hostages, don't sabo others with badly timed statements. If you can't help, it is best to keep quiet and pray. You can only choose to be a fool or be reckless if it is your own life that is at stake.

May I ask, why did she steal the limelight? Isn't speaking up for your residents an MP's job? How many MPs voice up real problems in parliament? How many actually attend in the first place? How many just go thru the motion by attending and not speaking up or when speaking up, speaking the politically correct stuff? How many fell asleep so many times while parliament was in session?

We are not getting value for their services. If we are, then I am blind and deaf and dumb.

ahhh...interesting insights into the Night Club scene.

But i guess it is not only confined to nightclubs. the same sleaze applies to casinos and gambling.

to me, the pap is an accomplice in allowing casinos in SG.. so is the pap also not decent?

The whole concept, approach and demand to be paid obscenely speak volumes of the pap leadership. It's just demeaning and distasteful. I dont wish to have people like that to be my leader. I rather have one who is more caring and concern...not one who comes in grudgingly and ask.."who shd I serve?"

The US Presidency has a limit of two terms..that's very wise and prevents exploitation and croynism. SG shd learn from such best practices..but alas, pap's self interest takes precedence over good sense and good judgement.

We need strong oppositions and strong established institutions to check abuses and self interests in SG.

We need a few righteous and moral men to save SG

You missed the point again.

In the recent hostage situation in Philippine, if those victims had acted early when that 1 gunmen was relaxing, maybe more could have walked alive out of the bus instead of becoming sitting ducks for target practice.

If the over hundreds of passengers on the plane that crashed in 911, maybe they may have a chance and be alive and not dead in the buildings with thousands more if they had acted to contain those 4 or 6 dumb fucks terrorist.

Hostage takers take hostage for a reason, and the reason is to strike fear in and outside of his zone. When you are in fear, the perpetrator is in control. When the perpetrator is in control, you will have to listen to whatever demand he want. This is the effectiveness of hostage taking. If this effectiveness is gone, then it would be a waste of time and effort to be a hostage taker.

If hostage taking is not an effective tool for the terrorist, then it would not be in the plan of action.

Even if you saved one hostage situation, you can be sure there will be another so long as the perpetrator see the effectiveness of taking hostages for their demands. So how many hostage situation you want? It will be never ending so long as dumb fucks are scared shit and act like sitting ducks for target practice.
