talk to few agents, reply was no buyer now, hopefully can find a buyer sooner.

another question:
i have not pay installment for few months because have some advance payments in load account,
eventually want to sell this uint, wonder

1. keep paying monthly installment
2. pay a lump sum every few months
3. stop paying till the money in load account deducted

which is better choice ?
thanks again

Keeping money in the current account may reduce your housing loan interest, if I am not wrong.

If it is a term loan / semi flexible loan, then no point putting more money in the account.
If it is a fully flexible loan, I would put more money in it. Don't stop.

Wanted to ask, what exactly should I lookout for when inspecting my condo after handover of keys? What are the typical things that people check for?

Should I bring some professionals along, ID/electrician?

Anyone knows any good ID in JB that speaks English!?

Also any movers to recommend from SG to JB?

Hi everyone.
Need some urgent serious help. Read many contradicting articles online so best I ask those who are doing it so now. Most articles are outdated as well.

I will be moving to JB and working in Singapore.
Daughters will be in Singapore school, morning session, so I must be at their Singapore school by 7.30am Mon-Fri
Without traffic, it took me 45mins from East Ledang to her primary school.

But I need to know what time should we leave home in order to avoid traffic.
I rather leave earlier and then hang out somewhere in Singapore doing something than to be stuck in traffic.

I left 630am and we arrived 8.00am and another day arrived 8.30am

Someone told me in order to totally avoid any traffic jam at the immigration, to leave home at 4am!
is this right?

Also, how does someone from Singapore living in JB get a full-time live in housemaid?
To apply for a housemaid in Malaysia, you need a Malaysia work visa, but mine's Singapore.
To apply for a housemaid in Singapore, can the maid go in and out of SG-JB-SG using the MACS card like us?

Hope someone can truly help me out here. Thanks

Anyone got any SG-JB moving company to recommend?

No need to be excellent service, just need to be reliable (show up!)

Thanks.

My suggestion is you just have to try it on the different time slots, and you will know.

On the maid, talk to those agent and they will find a way.

Hope you have a enjoyable stay.

FYI, some banks impose a cap now. Eg the excess payment amount up to only 70% of outstanding can be offset interest. So pay more than 70% no use.

Avoid CHL at all cost. They are rude and aggressive and resort to arm twist u for more money even though price was agreed on earlier. They behave like they are the only spore-jb mover available. Try this mover JJ
+6582335651. Very reliable, friendier and definitely much cheaper than CHL.

I used Shift Trading at the end. Straight forward, no value added service, just 3 dudes came to wrap all the boxes, load and go. RM1K from central SG to JB town, door to door. 9am pickup and drop-off at 2pm.

I moved like a full 10ft truck load with various items (their truck is a big 20 footer)

thanks

Singaporeans are willing to live in nursing homes or shared communities with other seniors in their twilight years, but provided they have some privacy.

About half of nearly 1,000 Singaporeans said in a survey that they would be willing to move into a nursing home when they get old, but six in 10 would prefer single or twin- bed rooms rather than six- or eight- bed wards that are common here.

The reason for wanting the smaller rooms was to maintain privacy.

A similar picture also emerged for assisted-living facilities.

About half of the respondents said they would be willing to move into these homes, where seniors get help for personal care like bathing and going to the toilet.
But nine out of 10 said they would prefer single or twin-bed rooms.

Such group homes are common in countries like Australia and Japan, but do not exist in Singapore.
About 950 Singaporeans and 50 permanent residents aged 30 to 75 took part in the survey commissioned by insurance cooperative NTUC Income and philanthropic organisation the Lien Foundation.

Yesterday's release of the findings came about two weeks after the foundation published a report on nursing homes which found that despite the growing elderly population, seniors have few housing options other than nursing homes.

The report estimated that 50,000 seniors here will need some form of residential care facilities by 2030, though there are currently only about 12,000 nursing home beds.

On the lack of choice in retirement living arrangements, Mr Gabriel Lim, the Lien Foundation's programme manager, said: "I wonder how many Singaporeans choose a nursing home for their family members with the same care that they choose a handphone."

The survey also found that eight in 10 Singaporeans worry about growing old.

Topping their worries is whether they can look after themselves when they are old.

The fear of running out of savings was next, followed by healthcare and medical expenses.
One of the bright spots in the findings was that nine out of 10 respondents were aware of services available to the elderly, such as daycare centres and homecare services.

Researcher Radha Basu, who wrote the report on nursing homes, said: "Dormitory-style living continues to be the default option in Singapore nursing homes, including in new homes.

Clearly there is a disconnection between what consumers say they want and what's on offer, including in new facilities."
In conjunction with yesterday's survey, NTUC Income also launched an insurance plan covering diseases that affect older people like Parkinson's, dementia and Alzheimer's.

The new plan covers policyholders until the age of 100.

Been a terrible time since 2014, had minor strokes and affected my right hand. Thankful to my friends like LT and CS who helped me out. Thank you to some family members who walked away and made me shoulder everything myself. Barely made it.
