Took me one hour to clear both customs yesterday night. Reached woodlands checkpoint at abt 950pm.

1st linked is jammed up now but not as bad as last night. 2nd link is still okay. Next week mid-year exam is over, and it probably will jam badly every weekend for next few months.

Yesterday, I reached Woodlands Checkpoint at 1017pm and cleared Malaysia at 1127 pm. I think the jam's pretty ok. Today I reached MY customs at 755 am and cleared Woodlands at 840 am.

Some luck in the car queues helped, but overall the situation has improved tremendously from the days of the security breaches.

Maxis for me doomed at the moment.

Digi reliable I agree so far. Just that today at kota tinggi no data signal from digi.

Celcom was still alive there with an E signal tho.

Umobile ussd code not running past few days.

I think Digi is Telenor so should be okay. Maxis is totally local set up? However, I have not used both before. Umobile is okay in Bukit Indah area but no 3G coverage in Aeon Kulai, so cannot surf at all inside the Kulai shopping centre.

From 2nd Link towards JB, on the Bridge.
On the right hand side, can see Kelong and the upcoming projects in Puteri Harbor, etc.
Did you guys notice the LEFT hand side of the bridge into the sea?

There seems to be a piece of land being reclaimed, forming an island in the middle of what used to be water!
Is this the Country Garden project with Sultan/family to build a new stadium, maybe casino, etc?

Mind boggling and frankly, preposterous!
Is Johor/Malaysia running out of land to be reclaiming the seas in such a way?!

Exam period my friend

But it is a fact that the situation at Causeway has improved since the dark days of the security breach. No more single lane clearance at security pt n no more paper slips.

The reality is there has been a huge increase in malaysian cars doing the daily commute. $20 a day is still ok for the malaysians esp if they commute to SG as a couple or more, after considering the rental savings.

Found this video on Forest City Near Second Link:

Heard that sultan want to build his own private island so that he won't have to mix with the rest of us. Haha.
But not too sure whether this is true or not.

Well, with Danga Bay (which is not far from the istana besar) going to become one huge mega mass market condo enclave that's gonna multiply the polulation density many fold and add congestion to the area, I won't be surprised.

It is perhaps this island that's giving rise to some speculation that a casino may emerge in iskandar. With so many mega condo developments being planned especially by those of china developers, I suspect one way to generate and sustain investor interest to help these projects become successful is to have a casino in the same way that Singapore’s 2 casinos catalysed interest in Sg. The sensitivity of the project would be mitigated in citing it away from local population centres with limited/restricted accessibility.

There are a lot of J plates on Singapore roads now. I suppose the HDB restrictions, ABSD/TDSR and high COE in Singapore and better G&G properties in JB have made more go back to JB.

Transport links has improved in Johor.

Now it seems like it's the singapore customs that's having some difficulty in coping. Johor side seems to be moving and clearing faster. Which is a good sign.

Anything that I observed is that the cleanliness in Johor town has increased by leaps and bounds. Really great. Don't see rubbish at all. Kudos to the Chief Minister.
He's done a good job.

It is part of Sultan's gift. This man-made island will house a sprawling stadium ( with Country Garden as the sponsor ) for the Johor Football team.

The Johor Crown Price is the Chief of the Johor Football Fed. So next time PTP area will be damn damn crowded and vibrant..

Came back to Singapore via 2nd link today. Jam at Malaysia Custom for about 10-15minutes @ 4:45am. Just 2 years ago 4:45am is still a dead town in 2nd link. They need to improve something fast

Well said, Forest City is also supposed to be Sentosa like in many ways, other than the large stadium, malls, there will also be other attractions as its also touted as a duty free zone as well as having another attraction.. This is supposed to be a 50 year project. I was shown the videos a while back in CG itself in their small screening room.

Now immigration clearance at malaysian CIQ both at 1st and 2nd link very slow.

What is Forest City? Never heard of it. Issit at Country Garden?
Those China developer really pulling out all the stops.
Maybe they figure that China real estate is dead and only way is to venture overseas.

Good for Johor. Hope they don't screw it up.

But the Country Garden "Forest City" was never a confirmed project but they are trying VERY VERY hard to pitch it. Billions of dollars will be involved and this will be a mega project. If this goes thru, all of us who are vested in Nusajaya will be Screwed. Everyone will go to Forest City as it has everything and it is just "next door" to Singapore Jurong. I am sure the sultan already know the HSR is gona bring in Malaysians from the north to Nusajaya and in particular, Sunway/PTP side.
