Aiyah since when they justify 1 million pay? Ever take bus across Tuas custom? The immigration passport stamping there got no dedicated lane for Singaporeans. At Msia custom, they have dedicated lanes for Msian passport holders.

Any non Msians attempted to enter those car lanes dedicated for Msian passport holders? I am sure the immigration officers also LL have to serve you right?

1. Widen the Woodlands causeway by reclaiming land on both sides, triple the no. of lanes and booths.
2. Add third road link.
3. Higher pay to attract more custom officers.
4. Special pass like macs for foreigners invested in MY with a few lanes catering just for them so they can just scan like touch n go card at the tolls.

But this will only happen if Sg govt can really benefit from their investments in Iskander.

Yes many ways if the authorities really want to do it. May be there is no political will to really do something about it.

Here are my suggestion.

1 ) Economical union with Malaysia like the EU
2 ) JB or Iskandar declared special economic zone so less checks unless to go out of the zone.
3 ) More automation like special pass and card on both sides. The authorities can then use camera or random inspection to check for any illegal imports.
4 ) Ferry link but can take in cars and buses.
5 ) 3 link or via duct over the current causeway but with CIQ further in like the 2nd link same for Singapore. May be the singapore CIQ can be at Kranji or where the MRT station is proposed.

But obviously the fastest fix will be to improve the operation at the current CIQs.

I support your suggestion no. 1. No need passport scan with freedom travel. Experience this in Europe country Germany , France, Switzerland

Err I was talking about immigration clearance lanes for taking bus via Tuas customs...actually not just Msia custom lah but most customs will have dedicated lanes for own citizens but for SG Tuas custom, not a single lane dedicated for Singaporeans...try taking on weekend and queue behind the hordes of India/PRC tourists...

Better just merge the countries and no need custom at all...anyway the riches of this country is for foreigners instead of citizens, than better merge lah and at least we got more space to move aournd haha...

Once merge, the causeway can definitely tear down and build new one with as many lanes as we want, no more strategic issue haha...

Tats for car lanes.

Wait till u try the immigration hall for public buses. They have special lanes right at the end counters for MACS user. But if u try queueing the normal lanes, our mat bros would not entertain u....even though teres no pax or queue at his lane. He will instruct u to go queue at the MACS express lane and DIY urself. In Spore, if our immigration officers do like the above, they will recd a yellow card fm the public.

Is the matter of time . Nothing is impossible.

Hard to imagine that will happen in my lifetime. An economic union is more likely or a special economic zone will already be great and solve most of the problem.

I think our political system and beliefs have diverted very far.

I was at one of the developers new lunch cum lucky draw function and it felt very much like the community in Singapore in the 70's really. You hear malay spoken, a few indians at the side, mandarin and hokkian. Well the mandarin was with the malaysia accent if you know what I mean.

V fragile relation. SG almost got finished off by Malaysia several times after separation.

Singaporeans can use automated lane, usually it is not an issue unless the system is down. but then if you are travelling with young children then no choice have to go to manual counter.

Water is now no longer an issue because of Newater. Now Malaysia is the one with water issue because they are paying a premium for Singapore 's treated water. No matter Dr m&d almost kick the bucket when talking about water issue cos he sold water at 3 sen but Singapore sold back to Malaysia at over 10 times the price after some " filtration"

One of the reasons why we are enjoying clean water in JB despite the rapid developments is because Singapore handed over the water treatment plant in Skudai a few years ago http://www.worldofwatertreatment.co...johor-all-set-to-retake-water-treatment-plant

For GST 7% is fol Sg soon. When Sg's GST up to 15%, M'sia will fol. Custom jam will get worst n both side will not care. Both side want Sg old people stay johor till dead but not in/out for working in Sg. Mrt for M'sian work in Sg only. Invest n make profit that it.

Why so negative? If so, have you invested in Johor?

Bothside NOT OPEN ALL BOOTHS during peck hrs which cause some sg resident back up n old uncle as well. Both govt know very well for the "Hard Jam" going on but do nothing. What does it mean? I hv jam for 2 hrs n breath in car's toxic gas which cause old uncle sick for almost 2mths. Those Sg big guns all keep Johor's property n land secretly for profit but telling people not to buy. We can save more time n energy for others 'Low Bang" n good dinners instead on the jam. Invest n take profit but not necessary to stay.

The only way to solve the jam problem at CIQs is vote more opposition in . Investors got scare off , companies close shop , FTs disappear , hence no more jam .

Hi

Does anyone knows which optical shop in BI or AEON sells reasonable contact lens price ? thanks

I thought Msia no longer buying treated water from SG?

Yeah the automated lanes not for those travelling with children below 6 years old and usually the elderly don't know how to use automated lanes. Anyway which country will restrict citizens to use automated lanes with no manual lanes dedicated for citizens? The automated lanes are not even planned for SG citizens but more for those Msian or other work pass holders to clear quickly.

Crystal,
I used to help friends purchase from MOG at Aeon Bukit Indah
