Surprised that such a high profile employer and his maid could have a dispute that made it this far in the courts and media.

During the trial the judge decides that there is insufficient evidence and acquits my neighbor so does that mean I should now be charged with filing a false police report? I don't think so.

insufficient evidence is different from malicious intent. which is what Justice Chan is alluding to in this instance.

Who is the rightful employer? Is it LML?

You cannot say that you did not know. If you are the employer and you signed the contract with the terms it is binding. If someone else ordered the maid to do it without your permission you are still liable.

Unfortunately this is how the contracts work. Of course you can go to court to argue.

But so far it does not look like there are any other parties involved besides LML and his family.

Sure get his son to take the fall and say he was the one who ordered all that and he will take the blame for it.

From what was reported LML was the registered employer of Parti with MOM. Strangely and curiously though, based on the Parti's complaint to MOM, MOM did not seem to deal with LML the registered employer. MOM only gave a stern warning to both Mrs LML (who apparently directed Parti to work at Karl's office and home) and Karl.

Very messy shitty matter for MOM now. Made worse by the fact that MOM minister Jo Two's husband Teo Eng Cheong's chairman at Surbana during the material time was LML. LOL??!!

Hello, LML has neither admitted he was wrong nor apologised. He says he genuinely believes Parti is a thief and did his civic duty to make a police report against her. On the other hand he respects Chan J's decision where Chan J has determined that LML & family had an 'improper motive' to fix Parti.

One judge found the maid guilty and upon appeal another judge said the evidence was not strong enough to convict. Not guilty does not mean the maid is innocent. It simply means there is insufficient evidence.

The case is about the maid's behavior and not her boss. The boss is not on trial here and the verdict should have no affect on his position in life.
