Liew Mun Leong Billion Dollars Temasek Reputation Has Been Rubbished

The foreign minister of Indonesia must register an official complaint to Singapore government and press for stern actions against Liew
This is a reason that it is justifiable that when a maid is grossly abused mentally and physically and commits a murder, she must not receive the capital punishment.
And this fact needs to be publicised more so that abuses does not happen.
Maid Parti should have chopped up the faggot son and the matriarch. The most she will get is 10 years.

where to find download High Court Friday 100 page Judgement ?

SBF - Kamsia :D

there are more than 120,000 Indonesians maids in Singapore why No help from NGOs for maid Miss Parti Liyani ?

The longer there is inaction by the govt and those organisations that appointed Liew Mun Leong, the better.
Shows that those responsible for appointing Liew are not the decision-makers.
They do not dare to remove him unilaterally.
They are waiting for the cue from the very top.
If these organisations are indeed independent and proactive, they would have even terminated Liew's appointment over the weekend.

Wait for disquiet and public anger to build up.
Give Opposition lots of ammunition to raise in Parliament about the slow process of justice.
Patience.

The Indonesian maids should organise a protest at Lucky Plaza.
Headline news around the world.

AG n Dy AG will be busy crafting an appropriate response and jointly decide next course of action to pursue, if any. For sure, Pinky and Shan will be updated and advice sought from them.

A Terrible Miscarriage Of Justice!

The case of Parti Liyani, the Indonesian domestic worker who was acquitted on appeal of theft is a story of a terrible miscarriage of justice. For 4 Long years, she had to live with this false accusation against her and then her conviction by the District Court, before her reputation was restored by the High Court.

I am so happy for her that Justice Chan Seng Oon acquitted her on appeal. This fine judge is someone I have the utmost respect for, having argued before him on numerous occasions when he was the Senior Assistant Registrar Of the High Court in the 90s, before becoming our Solicitor-General and then a High Court Judge. He is a no nonsense judge who gets to the meat of the case within seconds without wasting time.Perhaps it is a reflection of his training as an engineer before he became a lawyer.

I have only read excerpts of Justice Chan’s judgment from various sources but I do not see how the Attorney-General can refuse to go further and prosecute those who provided false evidence against Ms Liyani, which led to her terrible ordeal. This case is a cautionary tale of how the law can often be used by the rich and powerful to oppress the less privileged in society, and the Attorney-General as the Guardian of the public interest has the duty to ensure that such persons are brought to justice for abusing the law.

If I am in Parliament, I will definitely raise questions on this case as it has a huge bearing on our Justice system. Every person must have full confidence in the Rule of Law- that no one is above the law.

Liew Mun Leong's silence is deafening. Still no public comment.
This is the guy who is reported to have his yearly performance bonus
in the tens of millions. But uses ONE paid for three locations?

Why has he not been hauled up by MOM since the case surface?

Money does not buy class, as we all know.

Likely face fine no jail.

This case shows that our judiciary system is fair and impartial. Our judges show neither fear nor favour towards the rich and powerful. It's thanks to PAP that we have such a fair judiciary system. And oppies want to destroy it all??

The silence of the aristocracy is deafening.
MOM must have been aware of the case long ago.
Laws were contravened.
Any minister, any sound?
Any of his bosses, any sound?
Calvin Cheng - comment leh.
Do you think Calvin does the same to his maids? After all they are birds of a feather.

An even more interesting question: Do you think John Tan does the same to his maids?

Public Statements By Shanmugam And Jo Are Required Immediately!

There is much public disquiet over the case of the Indonesian domestic worker, Ms Parti Liyani, who was falsely accused by her employers of theft. Her innocence has now been proven through the wise judgment of Justice Chan Seng Onn.

In the past, Shanmugam has been quick to issue public statements when there was public disquiet over controversial legal cases. He must do the same now so that public confidence in our legal system can be maintained. Jo Teo as the Minister Of Manpower must do the same since evidence of illegal activities by the employers relating to Ms Liyani’s employment has now emerged and is widely discussed in public.

This matter also deserves the most intense scrutiny by Members Of Parliament. I hope they will not fail Singaporeans.
Why must Jo say something everything? Skali she cries again then how?

AGC says further action warranted in case where ex-maid is acquitted of stealing from CAG chief

SINGAPORE - The Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) will study the High Court judgement by Justice Chan Seng Onn following the acquittal of a former domestic worker of stealing from Changi Airport Group chairman Liew Mun Leong and his family.

This is to assess what further action, if any, ought to be taken in this case, the AGC said in a statement on Sunday (Sept 6).

In arriving at his decision, one of Justice Chan's findings was that there was reason to believe that the Liew family took the pre-emptive step to terminate the maid's employment suddenly and without giving her sufficient time to pack, in the hope that she would not use the time to make a complaint to the Ministry of Manpower about her illegal deployment to work for Mr Liew's son Karl, it said.

He found that when she had threatened to complain to MOM after her sudden termination, the senior Mr Liew and Mr Karl Liew lodged the police report to prevent her return to Singapore to lodge a complaint with the ministry.

He also disbelieved the evidence of several members of the Liew family on various issues, it added.

AGC will study the judgment to assess what further action, if any, ought to be taken in this case, in light of Justice Chan's comments, said the AGC.

"His findings do raise questions which warrant further investigations."

Miss Parti Liyani, 46, was accused of stealing from over $34,000 worth of items from the Liew family while working for them.

After a trial, she was found guilty on four counts of theft and sentenced to two years and two months' jail in March last year.
She later appealed to the High Court against her conviction and sentence, and was acquitted on Friday.

Miss Parti's lawyer Anil Balchandani earlier said that he would be making an application for compensation from the Liew family that will be tied largely to four years of her pay, which was $600 a month.

"Whatever the amount we get, I think we will be necessarily grateful for," he said.

Dot can predict the outcome:

After investigation, AGC concluded that the police report was filed by Liew Mun Leong's wife and/or son Karl Liew. Either or both of them will be charged. The punishment is a fine (sup sup sui).

LML will not be tainted. He was only a witness and he testified in good faith, genuinely believing that the maid stole some items.

LML therefore is not charged, has not committed an offence, and there is no reason for the organisations to terminate his appointment.

Case closed.

There is a bully culture in the Singapore workplace. The Singapore employee is at the mercy of the Singapore employer. In Singapore if you have no money, then no justice.
