You can't discard most of them as fake, but you should treat them as a good number are biased with a sprinkling of some total rubbish. If you start calling them fake news you run the danger of filtering news that suits your personal bias.

Just FYI on mercenaries and armed civilian volunteers ... They are not subjected to the Geneva Convention. Meaning these people will not have rights as POWs, can be executed on the field and denied medical treatment.
I have no sympathy for mercs because they made that professional choice. But I feel sorry for the civilian fighters
