i remembered reading many years back that the japanese are not really sorry about the hurts they caused to others; however i do not know if the situation has changed over the years. At that time, there was even talk about rewriting the history books in Japan.

The degree of sincerity of the Japanese is not fully proven as apology is not unanimous (unlike Germans who are not skinheads and aryans) but on the other hand, it could be that the hurts suffered by the Chinese and Koreans were just too great.
