Some minahs very delicious and wet. But...

Journey to go there longer than JB.
Msia immigration under Anwar really no horse run. Very smooth and polite.
JB still can play with VBs and ATBs
JB food nicer

I'm looking for nice shopping malls, a proper pharmacy to buy stuff that in Singapore would need a Dr's prescription.

A nice hotel for say $50 per night.

I never been to batam but I think you may not like it because it is a Muslim country
I have been there once long ago when it was still pretty ulu. I was on a work assignment, and it was touch and go. I remember the jetty was just like the one at Changi.

Hadn't been there in a while but I believe they collect a head tax from every visitor.

It's all about the massage. Go to this place called 'Go! Massage'.

If your ferry docks near enough (Harbour Bay terminal), you can walk there. You'll pass by the McDonalds Harmoni Batam at the road junction, then follow the road with the McDonalds on your right hand side. You'll pass by New Star Hotel.

You don't go Batam to save money shopping... One return ferry tix is $70
