We have that 100% in local mass media!!!! Whether it's radio, TV, newspapers, on air or printed, you can find 100% singing praises of PAP gov. You can't find a single negative piece of article about the PAP gov there.
So where you expect all those negativity goes to? The internet where it is not controlled. If there had been a well balanced debate or discussion about policies in the local mass media, both good and bad, you won't find the immense lopsided views here. Are you fucking dumb to not figure this out? Oh wait, you are not living in Singapore, that figures.

When you first started this forum in Delphi, what was your objective? Is it still the same?
Okay, perhaps we'll (and maybe even yourself) may never know. But allying with the PAP wasn't it. Otherwise it wouldn't have survived even a few weeks. My quesss that it was for the fun of it. And being a place where people could yak whatever they felt like, it became an anything-goes forum. I remember there were topics ranging from philosophy to cold-fusion, and of course sex and politics. And since there was true freedom of speech here, it attracted the anti-PAP crowd, which grew, and organized its course in some ways too. And everyone enjoyed it (Singaporeans were starved of local political humour), although some were disturbed by it (tough shit!!!).
Anyways, it's still your forum and you don't need anyone's permission what to do with it. If you feel its time to close shop because there are too many anti PAP toads in here, then maybe its done its job. You have lots of thankful followers.

If you are watching the news on TV and it shows a building engulf in flames, do you feel the heat? Do you know what causes the fire other than what the newscaster tells you?

only a few of us are willing to sacrifice our carefully cultivated characters or persona's to combat the tide. the pap ib is realistically and practically non-existent, in terms of intelligently engaging the lunatic fringe. in their virtual absence, iq and eq wise, a few of us stepped up to the plate. not all of the pap policies are bad. some are defensible. and if they are, they need to be defended to give opposing views some critical thinking. for the oppos to do better, their ideas need to be tested with fire, and if found lacking should be shredded to pieces. same with defending pap policies. for those who shred ill-conceived oppo ideas and or proposals, they must be given their space and opportunity to rebutt without the automatic accusations of being pappy cronies or pap ib troublemakers. some of us just like to correct a wrong, straighten facts, counter a misrepresentation.

Boss, please don't shut down the forum. I grown up with this forum just like I grown up with my fav band Greenday, Simple mind etc. Although I do not post often, and have very little points and power, I still support this forum and it has become part of my lifesytle. I don't read newspaper, books or anything. Somehow this forum has made me learnt good english, especially "Loose" vs "Lose" :p If you close shop I will have to find other hobbies liao :o
looks like PAPIB's won and all opposition supporters have to go to hong lim to voice their disagreement. Not that I have an axe to grind as soon I will be up and away to my new home. My sympathies to those left behind.
