I'll give it another 6 months.....

Leongsam,

You call TracyTan and airhead bimbo. Yet you make her thread "Crumbling of Singapore" a sticky for many months. If she talks rubbish, why is her trash talk featured so prominently?

You claim to get tired of all the fallacies posted. You expect people to know all the facts? To have command of all the information at one go? Well, aren't you already correcting their errors?

You spent a decade on the forum and now you want to close it down because you feel it is too one sided. Well, go ahead. Turn it into an emigration forum where only emigration topics are discussed. Remove all domestic political talk once and for all. I have no problems with that.

You don't have to refund me. Take my donation as a small payment for having the freedom to share ideas with people here and learn from them.

I just find it an irony that you're doing all this. This forum evolved from a sex forum into a TCSS/political forum. The emigration topics were also present during the early delphi days and started to build up, but all these were not mutually exclusive. In fact, they reinforced each other, because each section, be it politics, or trivia, or emigration, attracted their own unique clientele.

If you had positioned the forum strictly as a TCSS forum, or strictly as an emigration forum, you wouldn't have had the success you enjoyed today. For one, I won't be here. Neither would many of us. You need many topics so that there can be synergistic merging of forum traffic.

I therefore find it ironical that you are now in favour of condensing the whole structure into a single topic forum.

The truth is, you really don't need 6 months. Nothing is going to change in 6 months. The traffic today took a decade to build up. 6 months is a pittance compared to the duration of time needed to cultivate the following you have today.

So I say, if you're really intent on this, just do it now. Save everyone the hassle of waiting to see what happens. Shut down the coffeeshop and politics folder and just implement emigration folders for each of the popular destinations -- OZ/NZ, Thailand, JB, etc.

I'm becoming really tired of being the only one here pointing out the fallacies contained in many of the anti government ramblings.

Most here seem to be too blinded by their personal hatred of certain PAP office bearers to think rationally.

For example, sweeping statements are made about how the government leaves to elderly to die in the gutters. However, life expectancy statistics paint an entirely different picture. Singapore is right up there with the best. Same goes for infant mortality. Singapore is always in the top 3 spots year after year.... hardly the sign of a government that is neglecting the health of its people.

How do you define a level headed Singaporean? Someone who have benefited from PAP past policies and sitting in a comfortable armchair reading the Prostitute Times and agreeing with everything PAP is doing?

FACT CHECKS

1. PAP Politicians, richest in the world, are not transparent over their dealings and conflict of interest from running multiple directorships to undermining the laws of the country, eg the $2 company running IT services.
2. The way elections are held, the GRC system and the presidential system that have enough flaws to allow mannequins to be elected into public office.
3. The figures & stats that comes out of Singapore are too good to believe, and nobody is questioning either.
4. The climate of fear that still exist because of ISA laws, and police brutality and their questionable tactics.
5. The very fact is that this forum's survival means it has to be hosted outside Singapore.
6. The inability of PAP to attract talents.
7. If the government dealings are not so secretive, the people will not resort to guesswork and "fallacies".
8. People feel that they are not being treated like adults or stakeholders. Singapore government know best and act without consultations to the people because they know better. Casinos and 6.9mil population. So, it is easy to blame the government for their human weaknesses like gambling.
9. The PAP is an old tired organisation, lacking in ideas for an aspiring future generation. They play the blame-the-people game and can afford to play this game because of its hold on the people. Everything in Singapore belong to PAP.
10. The Singapore government implements policies on the run, without much thoughts to the consequences and sometimes, failures are not addressed. Pain for the people are now recognised as easy solutions. Singapore is now paying the price and the people are still suffering the painful results.

As someone who benefit from PAP past policies, you have looked through Singapore with coloured glasses and missed the obvious signs of a SINKapore.

I made it a sticky because it contained huge chunks of my own wisdom. I was at my peak.

as the admin and owner has mentioned before, this site has become such a joke and cesspit of political masturbators that no one high up in the food chain or serious about factual, incisive contents truly gives a f*ck about what goes on here.....except for some braddell brothel prostitutes who have nothing substantive to write about.

Sure or not? Where do reporters go to get feed on the anti-PAP sentiments?

Another issue that riles me no end... the atrocious standard of English.

We all make mistakes and nobody is expecting perfection but the Singlish crap really gets to me.

Standards are dropping all over the English speaking world, at least Singaporeans are bilingual.

Have you seen native English speakers write? I stopped correcting them, and joined them.

they don't need sbf. they can feel it if they try to chope seats at the lowly food court table. only the low lives in sg exhibit hostile behavior towards the benevolent progress-minded world-class pap regime. :D

Alamak ...we are sinkee mah. If I were in NZ, I would use NZ English. In Rome, do as the Romans do. :D

looks like PAPIB's won and all opposition supporters have to go to hong lim to voice their disagreement. Not that I have an axe to grind as soon I will be up and away to my new home. My sympathies to those left behind.

Bro Jubilee,

If you read between the lines, the host Sam is not kidding this time. Not his usual sardonic or satirical style. The advertisement revenue is for the emigration, Games, and Travel folders, so that's probably where the focus will be.

A buyer may also be in the wings, and he/she may have his own plans for the forum. I suspect at least a USD80,000 cash offer. That would be what i deem the fair value of the forum given traffic levels. Sam will probably bargain it up to USD100,000 at most.

Either way, i suspect a change of hands in the next few weeks.

make him an offer then

you guys just dont understand it..
sam didnt start this webby to make dosh.
the fees he collected isnt even enough to cover the overhead.

All hobbies can be monetized. In any case, current revenue stream is a poor valuation tool. That is why Sam is proposing restructuring, like what he did to the sex forum before it was sold off. He found a buyer because the buyer understood that he could grow the site many times larger than what it was. And that came to pass.

let's help improve the valuation. it should be around usd600k. :o

He used to post a link saying that this site is worth millions.

That's absolute bullshit. I have never posted any such link because no such link exists in the first place.

There is not a single site valuation site that has anything close to such a figure.

Wait, din you used to post a link that said "According to this site......." whenever the question of the value of this site comes up?

When someone asks what the site value is, all I do is provide a link to one of the many site valuation tools that exist eg http://www.worthofweb.com/website-value/sammyboy.com

The highest valuation has never exceeded $650,000 USD and the actual valuation is anybody's guess until an actual offer is presented.
