In 2017, true blue Singaporeans will form possibly 50% of voters in Singapore if the PAPies win the elections with the other 50% being new citizens and PRs.

The PAPies will continue to import as many foreign workers as they can to dilute the votes of Singaporeans.

If they get booted out this coming election, we can gain our country back!

If they win the coming election, we can say goodbye to the Singapore that we knew, grew up within and wanted for ourselves and our children.

TKL was for over 30 years a cadre member of the PAP. He had been involved in Politics for very long time and had been a shortlisted candidate for Marine Parade GRC. He was not picked. He was then "retired" and the chap from Prudential took over. He no longer draws an income from a GLC.

Suddenly we have man who claims to fight for the common man, highlighting financial abuse of customers etc. While he was in NTUC income, his firm was allowed access to NS men, SAF and many other GLCs to flog their insurance. He also had a captive market in NTUC and many other GLCs.. All he had to do is run it.

Its like career criminal who has decided to run an orphanage out of the goodness of his heart.

Note he has never revealed anything about the PAP or its inner workings. The presidential office is a useless institution and he wants to run it. For what?

I partly agree with you, but there's one notable difference compared to the rest of the chaps in the same cat like Philip Yeo, Winston Choo, Ng Ser Miang, JY Pillay, Saw Phaik Hwa, Tjong Yik Min, Olivia Lum etc. etc. - TKL was at the same time an established establishment critic in the ST Forum, emphasizing it in his personal capacity. That might not account for much, but better than the long list of elites including those I listed who had served the estab for decades and never said a thing.

However, I agree he's not in the same league as JBJ or Chiam, who left their judge/teacher roles to join the opposition when everything was going well for them. I also think Ngiam Tong Dow makes a better candidate.

In one of your rational moments some time ago, you actually made quite a good suggestion. You suggested that we as individuals, should go and talk to our friends, relatives, colleagues, acquiantances, or even people we meet on the bus, plane, seminars, etc, and talk to them about the state SG has become because of the pap. I actually tried doing that and you know what was the "success rate"? For every 10 people, there was only 1 who agreed and willing to support opposition. The others were either non-commital, reluctant, full of praise for pap, apathetic, comfortable, ignorant, etc. That's what Singaporeans have become.

And do you think by berating those who are still supporting opposition, you are helping?
Other than this good suggestion, which didn't really work, you are the pathetic one.

TKL is a good candidate for Holland-Bukit Timah. The incidence of people in that GRC who lost money on structured products is higher than the rest of Singapore. Also the regular flooding, the PAP’s response and the impact this has had on property prices has eroded PAP support.

I however hope that TKL takes a rain check and leaves Minster Lim alone. This is because Minister Balakrishnan is in that GRC. The Opposition needs Minister Balakrishnan to survive the election and continue on a Minister for MCYS. As long as he is there, Singaporeans will be reminded of the much hated YOG. The Opposition will continue to be able to talk about the $387 million (esp when the PAP is raising the GST to 10%) and all of the other unhappy YOG screw ups.

Do you remember GCT making a comment that the banks should try and compensate everyone, and not just the vulnerable investors?
They didn't in the end, but wasn't that a very clever political statement to try and win over the "non-vulnerable" investors / voters?

You're right about Singaporeans remembering the structured product fiasco and the floods. Things like that which affect them personally and caused them financial loss or inconvenience will never be forgotten. The opposition should take advantage of that.

I'm quite sure you know for what. In fact, there are probably a few different types of reasons why he may want to be president or an mp.
