What shits me is that many believe that GCT was the best prime ministar ever. Due to his fake openness policies. and they thought he was a good man,,but look at the shit he has done,,,he is just another crap minister we had. Also dont forget LHL was DPM, LKY was SM and all in cabinet,,what was LHL and LKY doing? they were suppose to help the PM..but since LHL has taken over,,things have gotten worse cos LHL does not know what to do except running the country to the ground.

The turning point was actually under GCT. His asset enhancement scheme as well as the policy of priority flat upgrading made people materialistic and selfish. It also set home prices into an upward spiral so that now public housing is unaffordable.

It was also during GCT time that the last bastions of grassroots orgs came under the ambit of PA and PA was made a full fledged machinery to perpetuate PAP interests.

It was also under GCT that the remaining public services that had not yet been privatised became fully privatized and driven purely by profit incentive. The interests and wellbeing of citizens went right out of the window.

The LHL era's biggest tragedy is the uncontrolled FT policy that has resulted in overcrowding, underemployment of Singaporeans, sky high pty prices and wage suppression of SG workers.

GCT is no angel. He was the idiot who (together with father and son) run the entire country as a corporate looking only at GDP growth at the expense of everything else. His so called privatization of government bodies was in fact not really privatized at all. It's just simply changed of firm's name to xxx Pte Ltd but in actual fact all the directors and top managements were still the civil servants and scholars plus Temasek holds majority of all the shares. It's just a hoax to con Sillyporeans into believing that he is making changes to policies to make life better for all local Sillyporeans. He placed MBT in charge of transportation which churns tons of $$$ by implementing COEs and later move him over to HDB to raise property prices sky high. These two stupid policy alone already earns the Sillypore gahbrament tons of $$$ but the local Sillyporean peasants ended up worst off.
