I look at it from the micro and macro perspectives.
At the micro level, I ask friends and loved ones to be aware of the ills and dangers of gambling addiction. Of cse, it is up to them to decide whether they choose to get addicted
At the macro level, as a Singaporean I hv every right to question the pap for legalising casinos as they will bring hardship, social problems and social ills to Sg and Singaporeans. Dont give me the crap that the govt wants to give decision making to Singaporeans. The pap has banned Palyboy which does less harm. The reason the pap contradicts itself here is that Playboy doesnt bring in revenue to the pap whereas casinos do. If the pap wants to allow singaporeans to make their own choices, why doesnt the pap return to the people their CPF monies at 55yrs? The pap is morally bankrupt.

Your friend's story is very typical for gamblers. They don't believe their luck can be so bad. So, they galvanise financial resources to mount another challenge after suffering some blue black. More such challenges will end up with broken bones. You can only defeat the casino by winning a small percentage of their capital and leaving asap when done. Go back again the next day, nest day and next day. Win small, leave.

When come to casino gambling, the worst lot is the Vietnamese. They can gamble every single cent they had, stay inside casino for many days and lastly end their lifes if they lost everything
This is very common. Most high-rollers been reduced into poor men. Some gamblers is smart to realise that been relegated from VIP rooms to common areas is time for them to quit or just play for entertainment. Entering casinos on a daily basis is like committing suicide and that make "winning" become temporary.
I never trust luck and I believe in hard work toward success and I hope nobody try to making a living out gambling professionally in casinos.
