Congratulations to NCS Group on your 40th anniversary!
Over the past few decades, Singapore and the world have been transformed by digital technology. NCS has played a key role in many national projects, and continues to invest in digital innovation. Also glad to see NCS contributing to the digital transformation of the Asia Pacific region.
It was good to catch up with old friends like Philip Yeo, Swee Say, Chin Nam and many other pioneers in our tech scene. Their trailblazing spirit made all the difference, and I am glad to see a new generation of trailblazers taking NCS and our tech industry forward.
Ultimately, the purpose of tech is to improve lives and livelihoods. I hope NCS and our tech industry will continue to be trailblazers, making an impact on Singapore and the world.

Touring the mini exhibition featuring memorabilia including the National Computer Board’s yearbook and professional standards handbook! NCS started as a subsidiary under NCB, before they corporatised and later became part of SingTel.

The achievements of the many NCS and NCB trailblazers are too numerous to name. Glad we heard from some of them yesterday as they shared personal anecdotes.

HSK welcomed Germans.

Welcomed more than 400 German global business leaders tonight at the reception for the Asia-Pacific Conference of German Business (APK).
From where we stood, we had a panoramic view of our city. And Singapore in-turn gives global businesses a vantage point into Asia.
This is the first in-person APK gathering in four years, and we are glad that they have chosen to hold the event here. I encouraged our guests to continue using Singapore as a gateway to the region.
German companies are known for reliability and making long-term decisions, unperturbed by short-term distractions. We look forward to partnering them in areas such as the diversification of supply chains and the greater push for sustainability.
Together with me at the welcome reception was German Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck.
I met Vice Chancellor Habeck prior to the welcome reception. We had a good exchange on the developments in Europe and areas that we can further collaborate on. We also agreed that economic and climate goals are not tangential, and with innovation and determination we can achieve both.
I wish Vice Chancellor Habeck and all our German friends a very productive APK in Singapore!

During my working trip to Germany in June, I met with a number of German business and thought leaders, and visited research centres that are working with industry to translate academic discoveries into real world applications. I saw many opportunities for research collaboration in both our countries. I hope that the APK will further strengthen economic and personal ties between organisations and businesses in both our countries.

Happy to meet with German Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck before the APK Welcome Reception in the evening. Singapore and Germany are close and trusted partners and share strong and longstanding ties. Had a good discussion on how our universities, companies and businesses can do more together.

Very happy to join Nee Soon South Advisor Carrie Tan 陈澮敏 this morning, visiting different parts of her constituency and saying hi to everyone who was out and about on a lovely Sunday morning.
Chatted with many residents along the way, and it was evident that Carrie and her team’s conviction towards serving and helping the underprivileged has endeared her to her residents. Also happy that many residents, volunteers and community partners were contributing back to society in different ways — from providing support to caregivers to encouraging residents to go green. Heartened to see that they are working hand-in-hand to make a difference and to building a better Nee Soon for all.
As a first time Member of Parliament, Carrie’s efforts on the ground is commendable. I hope that she and her team will continue to put in their best to care for residents!

Presented these radios with around 30 hours of pre-recorded songs and stories in different languages and dialects to our seniors. These familiar tunes and stories keep our seniors entertained at home and help improve their mental well-being.
