I am more impressed with their ability to know news that aren't reported in the newspapers. For instance, what is happening within their SS/triad groups, what is happening to other groups - rival as well as friendly groups etc. They are also able to know when to expect their bros joining them in prison. Amazing indeed.

About 2 months ago. I met an ex-accused who served about 10 years jail time. Could not recognised him. He walked up to me and greeted me. In the course of our conversation, he told me while inside prisons, he heard limpeh lost heavily in horse racing bets!

Actually very easy to collect outside information during visit time , their " brothers " will visit them with their parents . So whatever information also got . That's why now cannot anyhow talk if you want to visit your friends in prison cause now visiting area have recorder they know what you talk during visit

There's another way through communication is to write letters using code words. Prison will allow each inmates to have 2 letters send to their friends or family members every month .

not bad for a gang that is formed in prison,and now omega which I is quite notorious in singapore..for drugs. definitely the headman is in for 55 charge..anyway why SSB/CID wants to arrow Changi prison for the formation of omega?

Yup. Commando type. Very violent. Beat die no run. It is easy money so temptation is always there. Spending more time in RWS than HFJs. Was told business not-so-good for these HFJs nowadays.

Because MHA led by then minister WKS wanted more info wrt starting point for Omega. Taichi-ing here and there very common in the Civil Service. If SPF says started on the outside, D CID sure kena backside buaked gu yew kau kau. Similarly, senior prison officers had to protect their Dir's backside. I think Chua Chin Kiat was their director then and Ng Seng Liang for CID. From my own knowledge, it started inside Changi prison when a smart Mat was suddenly enlightened. He came to realise that Chinamen were making good money from his bros. Why not sell to his own abangs?

Not really, from my knowledge. Some still stuck to their original SS group.

I still recall the time when SPF and Prisons Dept clashed over matters related to Omega. Latter die-die insisted it did not originate from their compound while SSB/CID arrowed birth of Omega to Changi Prison. Witnesses first class taichi during the various meetings.

CID was right.. Omega was set up inside prison.. Prison Intel really cannot make it back then in the 90s especially since many of their manpower consisted of Kelings and Chinese Junior officers from Malaysia.. Not sure of the present situation now..

Yes cannot visit but they can always find those without record to visit with the inmates family that's how smart they are .

Bro nowadays prison intel sibey chun because inside each cells are fitted with a speakers which the control tower in each blk can turn it on and listen to inmates talking or to communicate with them . It depends on if the control tower wanted to on the speaker and listen to their conversation anot .

To be fair, Chua Chin Kiat did quite a good job improving the image of the Prisons service.. Before that no one really wanted to join the Prisons Service.. Every one wanted to join SPF then.. The Prisons Dept had to recruit their officers from Malaysia to ease their shortage of staff..

CCK also managed to reduce the number of prisons staff who were involved in corruption cases..

This was where the Prison Intel came up tops as it was easier for them to dig out info in their own backyard soliciting informations about their corrupted staff from the inmates themselves..

Imo, he stands out more compared to KBH and GLK. Was told MHA chaps weren't comfortable with CCK being CP. Easier to handle KBH than CCK. His 'trace' with CPIB while in TRaffic didn't help too.

Yes, he did many things for Prisons Dept. Tee Tua Bah succeeded in bringing their salary on par with SPF while CCK managed to improve their image. Not so sure if it was CCK who managed to reduce the number of corruption cases though.

CCK's downfall was his over-zealousness wrt his religion. Having an equally over-zealous Dy Dir only made matters worse. Jason Wong, I believe. Both had to leave. From there, he moved to AETOS. No info where he is now. Can always retire with peace of mind. $$$$$$$ no problem.
