Each time I return back to my parent's home at Tampines, these are the kind of little FT Pundeks that I see at the playground downstairs..

My Ah Kong is not a FT.. He was originally from Malaya.. From his village at Johore, he rowed a sampan and landed at a beach in Changi.. No need to chop his passport when he step his foot to Spore back then in 1935.. So technically he's not an FT..

Agree on all points. Not only the lack of FTs, but those who were here knew their place. Our favourite teachers were expatriats from 1st world countries with a great sense of humour and also a sense of humility, Plenty of places to go pak tor, shopping outlets at orchard and katong with great ambience and lots of history and mystique behind them, great food at very cheap prices. Now the only people enjoying life in Sg are the upper middle class.
