1. Too much "yesterday's newspaper's news".
Why can't we start threads and posts about things we feel strongly about or subjects we are passionate about or our experiences and thoughts, instead of regurgitating and analysing what can be found in the newspapers? Why can't we state what should be in the newspapers instead of commenting on the drivel already in it?
2. Too much discussion and focus on individuals.
Most of the time, the individuals are not important, the problems are systemic. The elite are arrogant and condescending because they are rich and powerful as a result of the system. Vote out some of the elite, put in some of the opposition, there will be more focus and priority placed on the poor and needy and ordinary citizens. It doesn't really matter who you vote in and who you vote out. There is too much focus on individual names and actions. One retires, another one is promoted. One moves to the private sector, another moves from the private sector. One moves to the backbench, another moves to the frontbench. Nothing changes.
The pap members are not necessarily "bad individuals". The alternative party members are not necessarily "good individuals". The system has to be such that the people in power work for the interests of the ordinary people, not for the interests of the elite.
3. Too much illogical and irrational bashing.
If you want to bash someone or something, please at least do so in a logical and rational manner, with a well thought out and articulated argument. For many of the posts bashing people in this forum, would you ever write like this to your parent, teacher, principal, examiner, officer, boss, supervisor, colleague or anybody else, if you were not annonymous?
