JW5 and Equalisation like going aroung own business not working as mods leh.

Hey!
If I see objectionable posts in the moderated forum, I will warn them or delete one ok! But I haven't delete any yet. :o
I also gave suggestions on how to reduce abuse ok! But Sam replied within 5 minutes (dunno whether got read or not) and say he no time. :o

Other than these, there is some truth in your statement. :o

Lol, who eat Nasi lemak with kor lei chai 1? Hahahaa, at most sayur lodeh?

Of course got!
The Chinese stalls selling nasi lemak at Market Street and Chong Pang all have kor lei chye.
They also have long beans and acar sometimes.
The Malay stalls will have sayur lodeh, tempeh, acar, perhaps long beans or a salad with pineapple, onions and cucumber.

Adam road nasi lemak is so good even the sultan of Brunei takeaway there. :p

Nasi lemak is actually a very simple dish. It's actually not very filling. That's why i don't mind the chinese version with fish cake, chicken wings and so on.

To me, when u start adding all the other ingredients, its not nasi lemak anymore. The stall may call it nasi lemak, but its really not. Its nasi padang with coconut rice instead of plain rice. Even more so, when some of the other bros start adding longtong gravy to the rice.

Great post bro and ain't that the truth.

It shooore is. Nasi Lemak is one of the last bastion of native singapore food that PRCs have not fucked up. We have already seen them screw up chicken rice, hokkien mee, etc. So far, they have avoided coming into the realm of the malay dishes. Thank god for that. Forgot to mention 2 small details. The sambal chilli in the traditional nasi lemak is put on a small sq, piece of banana leaf before the whole packet is wrapped. And the whole packet is closed by a small stick on top. Nothing like pulling away the stick and unwrapping the packet. Just like opening a christmas present. LOL. By the way. I can see this thread has degenerated into a Nasi padang-masquerading-as-nasi lemak thread.

Eating nasi lemak with kor lei chai is a sin or a joke?
LOL, never tried it before, nor i saw it before, pretty sure Punggol side dun have, Changi also dun have, that Geylang 1 also dun have, LOL

So you cooking yourself dinner you great cook. What's up? Got nasi lemak and kor lei chai or not LOL

Bro, it's something in the rice. They must have the combination right. I tasted all the others a few times and I nailed it to the rice. One late night, drove all the way there, mouth salivating, joined the queue and in the early days there is only one queue. Army boy in shorts in front me. I nearly fainted when he ordered 51 packets when reached the front. Luckily after 5 packets, she took my order.

Yes, I agree. Basically the rice is different. And the sambal chilli is one of the better ones around. However, I've been eating it from the late 80s, when I started working in the area, to now and I won't queue if there's more than 10 people in the queue. Its good but the other stalls around it which sprang up in the last 10 years, are good enough substitutes.

And yes, there was only one person serving then, i.e one queue, and I always dreaded queueing after some soldier, policeman or technician from the airport who ordered at least 10 packets or more at one time.

Agree. Original Nasi lemak is coconut rice, ikan billis and egg.
If add more become economy mix rice ( chap chai bun)

Thank god there are believers who can tell the difference.

Agree agree. The max extra I can go for is chicken wing or otak. The rest are crap for nasi lemak. Should go for chap chai rice if you want that.
