From The Guardian:

Boris Johnson remains in hospital after 'comfortable night.

Boris Johnson is still in hospital suffering from coronavirus and had a “comfortable night” but No 10 has dropped the description of his symptoms as mild.
As the prime minister continues to be observed by doctors, Downing Street said it was too early to say whether he would be staying in for another night and did not deny that he has been given oxygen treatment.
The prime minister’s official spokesman said he was in St Thomas’ hospital in south London and was in “good spirits”, while continuing to work on his red box of government papers.
Asked whether Johnson has pneumonia, the spokesman said any change in his condition would be communicated to the public. He still has a cough and a temperature, more than 11 days after first reporting symptoms.
No 10 insisted it had been “transparent throughout” Johnson’s illness, despite having described the prime minister’s symptoms as mild right up until his hospital admission. Johnson himself only admitted to still having a temperature, not a cough, in his video message on Friday morning. No 10 has now changed its description of his symptoms to “persistent”.
Two Tory ministers – Nadine Dorries and James Duddridge – have suggested Johnson needs to rest.
However, No 10 said he was taking advice from his doctors on whether it was safe for him to continue working and was still in touch with No 10 officials from his hospital bed.
Earlier, Robert Jenrick, the communities secretary, insisted Johnson was fit enough to lead the country from his hospital bed after he was admitted with persistent coronavirus symptoms.

Boris Johnson taken to intensive care as coronavirus symptoms worsen

Boris Johnson has been taken to intensive care after his coronavirus symptoms worsened.
The UK prime minister had been in St Thomas’ Hospital in central London for tests and observation, but his doctors advised he be admitted to intensive care after he experienced breathing difficulties.
His absence leaves a vacuum in leadership at a crucial time in the UK’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which so far has killed 5,373 patients.
Johnson is reported to be still conscious, but was moved to an ICU at 7pm on Monday in case he needed a ventilator.
He had been admitted to hospital on Sunday after his coronavirus symptoms had persisted for 10 days for what Downing Street were precautionary tests.

A spokesman for Johnson said: “Since Sunday evening, the prime minister has been under the care of doctors at St Thomas’ Hospital, in London, after being admitted with persistent symptoms of coronavirus.
“Over the course of this afternoon, the condition of the prime minister has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the intensive care unit at the hospital.
“The PM has asked foreign secretary Dominic Raab, who is the first secretary of state, to deputise for him where necessary.
“The PM is receiving excellent care, and thanks all NHS staff for their hard work and dedication.”

Boris Johnson news - latest: PM remains in intensive care in ‘stable condition’ after coronavirus symptoms worsen, as Rishi Sunak confirmed as next-in-line after Dominic Raab

Reuters

Boris Johnson remains “stable” in intensive care on Tuesday and has not required the use of a ventilator, Downing Street has said.
Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove – who described foreign secretary Dominic Raab as “the person who is running the country” – is now self-isolating at home after a family member began to display symptoms of the coronavirus.
World leaders have sent message of support to Mr Johnson, who was given oxygen and moved into an ICU at St Thomas’ hospital in London on Monday following a deterioration in his symptoms.

Just watched a Sky News Report where Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said that Boris Johnson is in good spirits and has not needed a ventilator yet. In the meantime, Raab has received some instructions from Johnson and will be implementing them.

Chances of him kicking the bucket are low so let's just get on with exposing Covid-19 for the farce that it is.

if he's already on a ventilator, its 50/50.
Show me a report that says he's on a ventilator.

All the reports I've seen have specifically stated that he is NOT.

You believe the downing Street statements? The one that said he was taken to hospital just for tests?

Ok I'll discount the official statements. I'll trust your source. Where is it from? Did you visit him personally? Any video or photo?

I didn't say he was on a ventilator. I also don't trust statements from politicians. I simply stated a fact.

From The Evening Standard

Boris Johnson's health 'continues to improve' in intensive care, Downing Street says

Boris Johnson's condition is "improving" as he continues treatment in intensive care, Downing Street has said.
The Prime Minister had a “good night” in St Thomas’ Hospital and thanks the NHS for the “brilliant care” he has received, his official spokesman said on Thursday.
Mr Johnson has now spent three nights in ICU battling "persistent" Covid-19 symptoms.
He is said to be continuing with “standard oxygen treatment," so without the need of a ventilator.
“The Prime Minister had a good night and continues to improve in intensive care,” his spokesman said as he gave an update from the hospital.
“He’s in good spirits.”
It is understood the PM has not taken part in any Covid-19 drug trials.
His spokesman added that weekly “claps for carers” have been providing “wonderful, unifying moments” for the country. It is hoped that millions will turn out again at 8pm tonight.
Mr Johnson was last seen in public clapping for NHS workers in Downing Street last Thursday before his admission to hospital three days later.
Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, who has been deputising for the PM, is expected lead the Government's show of support for health staff in his absence.
“The Prime Minister thanks the NHS for the brilliant care which it is providing,” Mr Johnson’s spokesman said.
“The claps for carers have provided wonderful, unifying moments for the entire country. I’m sure that tonight we will once again see people in their millions paying tribute to our fantastic dedicated care workers.”
Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced the first big breakthrough in Mr Johnson’s health on Wednesday, when he said the PM was now “sitting up in bed” and “engaging positively” with medics.

From AFP news:

Boris Johnson back on hospital ward with UK in Easter lockdown

Prime Minister Boris Johnson was recovering in a hospital ward Friday after ending three days in intensive care for COVID-19, as his government urged Britons to stay at home over Easter.

The 55-year-old leader left intensive care at London's St Thomas' Hospital on Thursday evening and will now be monitored closely during what Downing Street called "the early phase of his recovery".

"He is in extremely good spirits," a No. 10 spokesman said.

Johnson's improving condition came as the government continues to impose an unprecedented nationwide lockdown to try to stem the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

It announced another 881 deaths on Thursday, taking the UK total to 7,978, with more than 65,000 cases so far confirmed.
That is thought to reflect only a fraction of the actual number of people infected.

Despite the grim tolls, there were indications the stringent social distancing regime introduced on March 23 could be starting to have a positive impact.

"We are beginning to see the benefits of this social distancing," said Stephen Powis, medical director of England's state-run National Health Service (NHS).

"We do believe the virus is spreading less," he told the BBC.

But Powis stressed it was "critical" that people keep obeying the social distancing measures over the long Easter weekend, when fine weather in forecast.

"It's still too early to really be confident that we are turning the corner," he added.

"We need to completely and utterly make sure that we all comply with the instructions we have been given."
- 'Period of readjustment' -

Johnson is the most high-profile world leader to suffer from the coronavirus.

He was hospitalised Sunday over concerns he still had a cough and high temperature after spending 10 days in self-isolation in a flat above his Downing Street office.

While in intensive care the Conservative leader received "standard oxygen treatment" and did not require a ventilator.

But his transfer there Monday, unprecedented for a prime minister during a national emergency in modern times, rattled Britain and sent shockwaves around the world.

US President Donald Trump called Johnson's release from intensive care "a very positive development".

His father Stanley Johnson said on Saturday he must now "rest up", after last week trying to keep working during his self-isolation.

"He has to take time," the elder Johnson told BBC radio.

"I cannot believe you can walk away from this and get straight back to Downing Street and pick up the reins without a period of readjustment."

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has been deputising for Johnson in his absence.

He led an emergency meeting of senior ministers on Friday, which discussed a formal review of the lockdown measures set for next week.

Implemented for an initial three weeks, the measures are widely expected to remain for at least the rest of the month.

Imperial College professor Neil Ferguson, one of the scientists advising the government on coronavirus, said they appeared to be working better than expected.

But he cautioned more evidence the spread of the disease was being reduced would be needed before they could be relaxed.

"There is some preliminary evidence... that we have seen even larger reductions in normal behaviour, contact, than we would have dared hope," he told BBC radio.

"That is good news but we have still got to see that reflected in case numbers coming down."
