For a fairly learned man, KH should know better that the law deals with intention rather than the actual perpetration of the crime. If you have set out to do something, restitution with 200% interest paid back is not going to make the original intention go away. You can't knife someone, take him to the hospital, pay for his medical bill, and hope the idiot will buckle at your cheap "sorry" and just forget the incident ever took place. In this case, even a cheap "sorry" it seems is a difficult word for KH to say
