Not pastor mentor, founding pastor or emeritus pastor?
Is the church paying for these people BAIL? , the church committee approved the payment of BAIL from the church funds or are they paying on their own account??:p the amount is not small!! Will Con Hee Fatt Choy be charged with Contempt of court, by issuing such statement to the press?? Indirectly he is saying that, this is a "Kangaroo" court!!
Want to pit Christianity against State?
What a cunning bastard!
His own community in reality is only that few mega churches here...
And I believe those are 'Lampar kek tio' lan lan forced to show solidarity because his downfall will affect their interests.
Actually only the non CHC members (read outsiders) are kicking up a fuss.
CHC zombies have willingly and knowingly donated their money to them.
Up till now you still only hear the good stuff these learned zombies are saying about the gang being charged.
Not a single CHC donor has asked for refund so far....
Kong Hee said ""... and will not make any comment about the charges..."
The funny thing is that he has been commenting about his case since day now till now. Wierd fellow.
Experts estimate that the legal fees will amount to $1million each. The flock is obviously paying for this - and more.
CPIB should conduct an easy check on where their bails (about $500k each) and the legal fees coming from.
I think he has already earned enough to fund the lawsuits.
not every megachurch condones his behaviour. just becos you're big doesn't mean there is always hanky panky
involved. i know another megachurch is actively interceding to god on his behalf (not new creation in this case). For a fairly learned man, KH should know better that the law deals with intention rather than the actual perpetration of the crime. If you have set out to do something, restitution with 200% interest paid back is not going to make the original intention go away. You can't knife someone, take him to the hospital, pay for his medical bill, and hope the idiot will buckle at your cheap "sorry" and just forget the incident ever took place. In this case, even a cheap "sorry" it seems is a difficult word for KH to say
He needs them to fund his lawsuits.
Sell Sentosa Cove lor. Sure enuf to pay lawyers with leftover change.
This guy and his gal are professional conman and conwoman....beware...
THE court case involving six key members of City Harvest Church is shaping up to be one of the most costly in recent history, with each accused likely to foot a $1 million bill for top legal help.
Five of the six accused have hired Senior Counsels while senior pastor Kong Hee is represented by Mr Edwin Tong, who is also a Member of Parliament for Moulmein-Kallang GRC.
There are 41 Senior Counsels - the local equivalent of British Queen's Counsels, who are regarded as the elite in the profession - here.
A Senior Counsel, who declined to be named, said most lawyers of this stature charge between $1,000 and $1,300 an hour.
This means that 10 days in court could incur fees from half a million to a million dollars.
While clients may ask for a fee cap, he added that most lawyers would be reluctant to give one as they do not know how much work will go into the case.
Another senior lawyer said: 'If complex issues or a lot of documents are involved - as I presume they are in this case - the cost could even be twice as much.'
Criminal lawyer Josephus Tan said rates could differ depending on lawyer and law firm.
'In big-firm culture, more often than not, it's an hourly billing system, but this may or may not apply to criminal cases, which are usually priced on a lump-sum basis.'

With the number of staff who is being paid by the church and had been made rich by Kong Hee, they will help him fight all the way. When Kong Hee is gone, they will be gone too. Their life depends on him.
