Breaking! Kong Hee issued a statement to the press

How come he only senior pastor?
Not pastor mentor, founding pastor or emeritus pastor?

Where is the old piece of shit in this episode! He once said in the 80's that christians do not give them problems & all christians are law abiding citizens! Now what kind of law do these bunch of nitwits at CHC abide by?

Is the church paying for these people BAIL? , the church committee approved the payment of BAIL from the church funds or are they paying on their own account??:p the amount is not small!! Will Con Hee Fatt Choy be charged with Contempt of court, by issuing such statement to the press?? Indirectly he is saying that, this is a "Kangaroo" court!!

Experts estimate that the legal fees will amount to $1million each. The flock is obviously paying for this - and more.

CPIB should conduct an easy check on where their bails (about $500k each) and the legal fees coming from.

This KH should send to IMH. Thinking all is stupid just like CHC member easy to con.

This will be one Titanic contest...so called "God's messenger' vs Crown Prince Court. In Marvel terms, like Thor vs the Incredible Hulk.

With the number of staff who is being paid by the church and had been made rich by Kong Hee, they will help him fight all the way. When Kong Hee is gone, they will be gone too. Their life depends on him.

Want to pit Christianity against State?
What a cunning bastard!
His own community in reality is only that few mega churches here...
And I believe those are 'Lampar kek tio' lan lan forced to show solidarity because his downfall will affect their interests.

not every megachurch condones his behaviour. just becos you're big doesn't mean there is always hanky panky
involved. i know another megachurch is actively interceding to god on his behalf (not new creation in this case). For a fairly learned man, KH should know better that the law deals with intention rather than the actual perpetration of the crime. If you have set out to do something, restitution with 200% interest paid back is not going to make the original intention go away. You can't knife someone, take him to the hospital, pay for his medical bill, and hope the idiot will buckle at your cheap "sorry" and just forget the incident ever took place. In this case, even a cheap "sorry" it seems is a difficult word for KH to say

Kong Hee said ""... and will not make any comment about the charges..."

The funny thing is that he has been commenting about his case since day now till now. Wierd fellow.

Actually only the non CHC members (read outsiders) are kicking up a fuss.
CHC zombies have willingly and knowingly donated their money to them.
Up till now you still only hear the good stuff these learned zombies are saying about the gang being charged.
Not a single CHC donor has asked for refund so far....

Sad, the blind followers, not rare & there will be other & current blind followers ( 60%), are being "ganged raped" and LOVING IT!!

The last part most likely his legal team told him to shut up!!

That so-called 'overseas Christian community' that turned up in court to show support for Kong Hee were nothing more than churches affiliated to (or planted by) CHC Singapore. Of course they'll defend their own kind.

Shitty Harvest is a microcosm of pee-a-pee and the members are the blind 60% with vested interest.

This guy and his gal are professional conman and conwoman....beware...

there shall always be imbeciles, idiots, fools and 101% retards that would believe charcoal is white when the real thing shown to them is BLACK.

that's the way ignorance works and that's why suffering shall continue. sad. :(

We can derived some important points from Con Hii's statement.

This conman pastor is becoming desperate as each day passes with the increasing hint that all the frauds, misuses of funds etc are systematically exposed with no methods to cover up anymore.

He knew that the authorities is ever firm and determined to forge ahead with the charges against him and his five accomplices fraudsters. Any less harsh punishments for these pastors would generate public backlash against the govt as the people are strongly united on this issue, whether pro or oppo supporters.

His call to God and Jesus have fallen into deaf ears with no supernatural hints of spiritual help of any kind. Hong Xiuquan. leader of the Christian Taiping Rebellion in 18th century China always attributed his victory to God and his "younger brother" Jesus. But when his rebellion faltered and surrounded by Qing troops, his prayers were all unanswered and God seems to abandon him at his most desperate moment. His whole kingdom was destroyed.

Con Hii tried to mobilise his own congregation and affiliated churches from overseas which he knows have been slowly abandoning him. The hardcore supporters might support him but I believe the numbers are declining rapidly everyday.

In the last resort, he tried to use religion. .."The Christian Community" at large. The use of religion against the State is a dangerous move as it can create unnecessary dangerous social and political problems. Spore is also a multi-religious society where more than 80% are non-christians. It is a unwise and dangerous move but I believe Sporean Christians are discerning enough not to be lured by this Con Hii.

This issue has nothing to do with religion. It is an issue where people are being swindled of their hard earned money using God as a cheating instrument. Mingyi and TT Durai are examples but their is peanuts compared to CHC. But it will be a national security issue if people like Con hee continue to be defiant and resisted and try to devised ways to fight the State.

The State in the interest of all should not hesitate to take strongest actions possible to protect the people from these crooked businessman.

So how much will this cost CHC?

THE court case involving six key members of City Harvest Church is shaping up to be one of the most costly in recent history, with each accused likely to foot a $1 million bill for top legal help.

Five of the six accused have hired Senior Counsels while senior pastor Kong Hee is represented by Mr Edwin Tong, who is also a Member of Parliament for Moulmein-Kallang GRC.

There are 41 Senior Counsels - the local equivalent of British Queen's Counsels, who are regarded as the elite in the profession - here.

A Senior Counsel, who declined to be named, said most lawyers of this stature charge between $1,000 and $1,300 an hour.

This means that 10 days in court could incur fees from half a million to a million dollars.

While clients may ask for a fee cap, he added that most lawyers would be reluctant to give one as they do not know how much work will go into the case.

Another senior lawyer said: 'If complex issues or a lot of documents are involved - as I presume they are in this case - the cost could even be twice as much.'

Criminal lawyer Josephus Tan said rates could differ depending on lawyer and law firm.

'In big-firm culture, more often than not, it's an hourly billing system, but this may or may not apply to criminal cases, which are usually priced on a lump-sum basis.'

somewhere the bible has foretold: the armies of evil shall rise against the good....

the surprisingly part is the evil were already within the good itself - in another words, satan has already infiltrated holy churches to turn it into hooleey ground.
