EVs make sense only if the grid is powered by renewable energy. Otherwise, it's still fossil fuel depedent, despite having minimal emissions at point of use. In the US, Big Oil is king, hence the slow transition to renewables.
The greater impact to the environment comes from the disposal of batteries: EV batteries are not really designed to be recycle, and waste management is a looming problem as EV population increases.

You're right. EVs are the new mobile phones - on wheels.EV are the new mobile phones, germans is bu keyi de when it comes to mobile phones
Battery technology is all chemistry of the 108+ elements of the periodic table. It is a mature science and we almost know all about how chemical energy comes from chemical reactions. There will not be any possible improvement to battery technology like "instant" recharging. You can recharge extremely fast if you input huge power, either 22kV or 1000 Amp; pray battery don't explode.Juat wait within 5 years for battery tech to improve sufficiently for fast charging or battery replacement tech to catch up like on NIO's and price of battery to fall. Meanwhile buy a used car if you need one.
Yes! EV will work provided you allow EVs to use newly developed nuclear battery that need no charging for 50 years! You're right. EVs are the new mobile phones - on wheels.
That's why I'm betting on Huawei, because they're the only company that spans the entire IT spectrum:
Chips - mobile phones - 5/6G network equipment - Harmony OS ecosystem - EV - EV chargers - AI technology
No other company comes close: not Tesla, not BYD, not Toyota.

- Huawei on Tuesday confirmed it is working with at least four traditional automakers in China on developing new car brands.
- That followed news over the weekend that Huawei is launching a joint venture with Changan Automobile for car technology.
- Chinese automakers with products “lacking in the tech necessary to compete seem more than happy to use Huawei’s [tech] to fill the voids,” said Tu Le, founder of Beijing-based advisory firm Sino Auto Insights.

Hydrogen fuel cell is another scam+hype+lies. It is OK provided you can get free hydrogen. You need energy to get hydrogen so won't solve anything.Think out of box la. Battery + hydrogen will be future tech
I think both are competing power train. Cannot be together.Think out of box la. Battery + hydrogen will be future tech
Current method if it work, can bring cost down to below usd2 per kg using chemistry. It's being tested now.Hydrogen fuel cell is another scam+hype+lies. It is OK provided you can get free hydrogen. You need energy to get hydrogen so won't solve anything.
I don't keep up with details so can't comment. From intuition, I think 2 kg of hydrogen is "hell-a-lot-of-power"! - think your LPG bottle gas.Current method if it work, can bring cost down to below usd2 per kg using chemistry. It's being tested now.

EV charging can be quick if utilise NIO battery replacement tech.So u get free electricity ah? Nothing is free la, regardless hydrogen or pure electric.
People say conversion rate for hydrogen is low, but it will improve, as with all technology.
At least hydrogen filling up take seconds only, unlike EV charging taking minutes
Battery swaps are an interim measure to counter long charging times. 3-5 min per swab, in and out of station. Faster than filling up with petrol.EV charging can be quick if utilise NIO battery replacement tech.
Currently using too much power to produce hydrogen. But chemical method may be the development that will Bring cost down.
