With signs of growing inventory and slowing sales, auto industry executives admitted this week that their ambitious electric vehicle plans are in jeopardy, at least in the near term.

Several C-Suite leaders at some of the biggest carmakers voiced fresh unease about the electric car market’s growth as concerns over the viability of these vehicles put their multi-billion-dollar electrification strategies at risk. Among those hand-wringing is GM’s Mary Barra, historically one of the automotive industry’s most bullish CEOs on the future of electric vehicles. GM has been an early-mover in the electric car market, selling the Chevrolet Bolt for seven years and making bold claims about a fully electric future for the company long before its competitors got on board.

The greater impact to the environment comes from the disposal of batteries: EV batteries are not really designed to be recycle, and waste management is a looming problem as EV population increases.

EVs are basically iPhone-on-wheels, where all the functions of the car are controlled from a centralized location. If the server dies, so does your car.
In other words, you are never in control of your car at all.
Many EV companies in China went bust quietly and drivers suddenly found out their car wouldn't start one fine morning.

EV's work very well in cities. But it's not good long distance due to slow charging. In US and Australia, best stick to ICE or hybrids.

If it's city driving like in sinkie, EV should be ok. Even better if you live in landed property so can charge at home during the night.
But I heard the tyres cost much more and it wears out s lot faster due to weight of batteries. EV's are a lot heavier than comparable normal cars. By 50%.
