Sam Leong's band of brothers - cyclists

What is there left to say???.........

Cyclists are certainly the least of my worries when I'm on the road.

You have drivers like this who could easily have killed a couple of people and you worry about insuring cyclists?

How did this clown get a license when he is blind and cannot see a set of bright RED lights and people crossing right in front of him??

Let's retest all license holders and when we finish that essential exercise we can then start worrying about cyclists.

That is why car drivers are licenced and vehicles insured...there are also bad cyclists which are getting worst day by day because they have no accountability...as such8 cyclists and pmd user's should all be licenced and insured. Tat way if they encounter bad drivers...they are covered and accountable. So it cut both ways...

Not all drivers are as patient as me, following behind these cyclists for 20 km without overtaking or honking at them

It took me 2 hours to drive home from my office as I wanted to ensure that these cyclists reached home safely by following behind them

When a truck runs over a loved one and their brains are splattered all over the road let's see whether the fact that driver is licensed and insured brings any comfort.

Van almost kills a biker. However biker is unfazed because the driver is LICENSED AND INSURED!

"LICENSED AND INSURED" MALAYSIAN registered car mows down two bikers.

Bikers thank their lucky stars that the driver had "license and insurance". :D

At least he has licenced..n therefore accountable..better than pedestrians get injured by cyclists n can't even identify the cyclists because no licence n registration

When a person is assaulted the perpetrator is invariably apprehended quickly despite the fact their NRIC number is not displayed on a plate hanging around their necks.

People are accountable for their actions regardless of whether they are licensed and insured. It's part and parcel of law an order.

The police are able to apprehend the suspect only because of CCTV footage, witnesses and informants. Of course, if the perpetrator has a microchip implanted in him, it would be far easier for the police to trace his identity and address to make the arrest.

All those who want cyclists to be registered should also not mind being microchipped and insured if they ever intend to leave their homes. It's for the greater good of society. :D

Cyclists travel at speed on a vehicle with a frame that could cause injury and even death during a collision with a person on foot. It makes absolutely no sense to compare them with pedestrians. LOL!

Theoretically true but if you look at the stats you'll find that more people are murdered annually compared to deaths from being hit by a cyclist.

As a cyclist myself I can assure you that the last thing on earth I want is to hit someone because my experience has shown that most of the time the cyclist comes off second best. Even motorcyclists are at risk from jaywalkers. For example in the video below the girl was not displaying her NRIC and was not insured either. Had she run away the poor biker would have had no way of identifying her without the dashcam footage.

Should we license and register all pedestrians?... the footage below suggests it would be a prudent move.

I drive to work daily, cycle 1-2 days a week and used to ride a motorcycle in my younger days. There are responsible and downright irresponsible drivers, motorcyclists, cyclists and pedestrians. It is pointless to compare who is more reckless or harmless. Just be on the lookout for other road users.

All the more reason for cyclists to be insured...so that way the medical bills etc is covered...depending on coverage which to a rich man like you...its wet wet water......can get full comprehensive insurance....will get coverage for any injury n time off too....

You're just being ridiculous.

Getting insured is ridiculous? U mean U don't want to be insured against injuries whilst cycling? N U say cyclists are vulnerable etc...n yet don't want to be licenced, insured and accountability for all road users ... accidents do happen...n U do drive? Might happen to you hitting a cyclists

Insurance as an individual choice is fine. Insurance mandated by the government is not. Don't you guys have enough rules and regulations to contend with and you're asking for even more?

Cycling is the last bastion of freedom in many countries. Even a 10 year old can cycle to school if he wants to. You want to burden a pre teen into needing insurance and registration? It's just crazy that anyone would think that way.

I want fair and equal treatment for all road users under the law with all being accountable. Cyclists who cause accidents and harm to other road users should be accountable for their own actions...right now cyclists are not accountable and are treated much better than other road users. For your lasts bastion and all that crap...go move to Liberia...total freedom..U can get shot at....and U can shoot back too...free for all...I do not believe in lawlessness
