when i was a little boy, the indians in Singapore were the best football players, running on muddy grass patches swiftly without shoes. The Indians had fitness while the Malays spent more time on skills and tactics. In the end, during my era, the best goalkeeper of our national team (David Lee) and youth teams (others, like Chung Cheng Students) were always chinese.

Then most chinese boys were playing Basketball just to show-off their Nike and Reebok shoes.
