Bro, there is a cabinet minister who enjoyed his pot but it is politically suicidal to talk about it. Many OMS are not your strait laced typed. They can be just as adventurous.
There is a recent case of Eurasian OMS/Scholar went apeshit on it, failed his exams and lost his scholarship and is back before completing his Uni. When he was called back, there were couple of scholars both male and females who panicked that he will spill the beans. They were re-assured by more senior civil who went thru the same period of experimentation.
The smart ones are better at controlling and no different to alcohol. Notice it is the low income that fall prey to alcoholism.

The only known dangers to cannabis consumption is having bronchitis(Bad Cough) with heavy consumption. When I was in school, I thought the cool ones and those who held great parties were those who did not excel in studies. Went to the Uni and found out that worse party animals and experimenters were the really smart ones. The medical faculty in any university is usually the worst. You haven't seen a real party until you attend one of this. These guys are super confident of themselves as they are smarter than most and know where the tipping point are.
By the way the chicks are great as well. Ever screwed a smart and good looking chick? One of them is now a Prof in our Uni.

Its just stupid to hang people for a drug that has never killed anyone. It doesnt make any sense. It should also not be a class A drug, You cant put cannabis in the same league as Heroin, Meth or other garbage substances. You cant allow people to set laws that they have no clue about, You cant allow a person to be castrated just because the majority of the population has no idea what it is or thinks its dangerous. Its not Fair. But Singapore being a conservative country will never take legalization lightly so the next best thing to do is to be fair to those who consume it and dont screw up their life for consuming something harmless.
Last year a Singaporean Dude(Malay guy if im not wrong) was sent to court for consuming Ganja, He argued that he needed it for his backbone problems and it was the first time in Singapore's history that someone was not punished for cannabis but not amounting to acquittal. So he was allowed to walk out freely but was told if he would come back he would be charged this time round.
