To be honest I never hear of non incumbent British MPs walk the ground before election time. May be have to do with election fund raise rules easier there than in SG, so naturally a well funded candidate can afford to spend on publicity. Possible that sinkie oppies are cash poor like sinkies.

Quite possible that they do not have enough funds to contest a single ward let alone a GRC. In the Sinkieland politicians are expected to walk the ground and visit every household before the 9 days campaigning. That maybe a reason why sinkie always choose the ruling party candidate to be their MP

Govt is out of sync with the majority. With Singapore great GDP progress, have 3 square meal + a roof is no longer achievement by current standard. Since they have demand high Salary, it is only fair that all Singaporean to earn what our MP earns, eat similar quality food as what they eat, travel the same method as what they does.

My analysis on the current society - there are 3 types of sinkie

(1) People who drive Jaguar or BMW

(2) People who sell their 3-rooms flat to buy a 2-rooms flexi to survive

(3) People who are homeless and had less than $1000 in their bank accounts

Ya, physically impossible in 9 evenings. 3 months more realistic. Incumbent can do meet and greet but challenger how? Their party must have selling point else conversion not likely. Ever heard of elevator pitch? Same thing but so old fashion these parties they don't understand their message so bland. :cautious:

Normally the rich wouldnt want a change in garment. Afterall why fix when its not broken. So with 70% going to the ruling party teres not many poor sinkies in red dot.

For oppies, only WP has a practical manifesto that I had read for the past two GEs. The rest of the oppies that I had read were things that not achievable at all even we elect them into the Parliament. To me, this is just empty talk :coffee:
