You've mentioned in other thread that you got it from Tan Kin Lian's blog and I clicked it. Some free publicity indeed. At first I also thought that he's always legpulling and bullshitting. But come to think of it, it's not that easy to get recommended by TKL as a financial expert.

Tan Kin Lian, CEO of NTUC Income 1977-2007. Used to be PAP man but quite politically inclined toward opposition after he left NTUC. I came to know a bit more about him during the minibond crisis 2008.

I don't know. From what I read in this forum the past few months, Ramseth is a WP member but still a close friend of GMS who has resigned from WP to become SG of NSP. I didn't know that Ramseth is also so close to TKL until that PatrickV posting. GMS was also actively helping TKL in the minibond crisis, that I knew since I've attended the Hong Lim talk. So the links all match, I guess.

Although I'm neither fan nor friend of Ramseth, I think that PatrickV is a bit ungentlemanly to post his details here, whatever the feud between them is. Know the name, know the number, just call him up and settle. In fact, my respect for PatrickV has been lowered a fair bit by this, sorry Pat, just being frank.

I think the interest is fair. If enemies, you won't dare loan your money. Drifter is taking a risk here. His friend can choose not to pay. What are his options? Lodge report, police classify you as loanshark. Vandalise flat, harassment also lead to police case. So, I see no problem charging such interest. The scheme is considered 'soft' in the moneylending biz.

His friend settles other outstanding loans and then pay lower interest to Drifter. Win-win for all. It is only 2.5% monthly interest. If you work in the repayment, yes, it is more than 2.5% but anytime better than ah longs'.

I see that I'm getting even more popular. Politicially linked? No, he has his own views I have mine. Romantically linked? Also no, he has his own taste in woman and I have mine. Neither of us are standing for election anyway. Just civic and citizens' views on politics. GMS is standing for election. He's the politician.
