What will PAP do about GOLDEN AGRI and APRIL????
Previously, VB asked the Indonesian government to expose the names of the companies responsible for the burning. When told by the Indonesians that some of them could be Singapore-listed or Singapore-based companies, VB replied that just give him the names and he will take action.
A few days later LHL went on TV and said that the PAP government will "take up the matter" with the companies if they had any operations in Singapore, or had any part of their ownership based in Singapore.
Now, it has been revealed by the Indonesian authorities that GOLDEN AGRI and APRIL are amongst the 8 companies who have been setting fire to their plantations, thereby causing the haze. Both of them are based in Singapore:
1. GOLDEN AGRI (SINAR MAS)
108 Pasir Panjang Road
No 06-00 Golden Agri Plaza
Phone: 65 6590 0800
2. APRIL
80 Raffles Place
#50-01 UOB Plaza 1
Singapore 048624
Tel: +65 6216 9368
Fax: +65 6538 4668
It is known that these companies are owned/managed by powerful families with close ties to the Indonesian leadership as well as certain members of the Singapore elite.
Will LHL and VB now keep to their word and take action against them?????
It is not possible for the PUBLIC to boycott their products as they do not actually produce any retail products, i.e. you won't go to NTUC and find any "Golden Agri" brand palm oil. They sell their products to other companies and it will be hard to find out who they are supplying.
Therefore the ONLY way to put an end to this shit is to take direct action against these two companies. An example must be set. I don't think Singaporeans will be satisfied if our ministers just went to see them for talks, or if they were just given warnings.
SINGAPORE MUST FREEZE THEIR ASSETS AND TAKE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THEM IN THE COURTS.
If the PAP dares to sue opposition leaders for millions and force them into bankruptcy, it MUST apply the same principle here, especially since these companies are endangering the lives of millions of people.
I would personally not be satisfied unless these companies were fined at least US$1 billion each!!
But will our government have the balls to do anything about it!
