The British mandate was doomed from the start given the (1) vast disparity between Jewish and Arab populations in Palestine, and (2) violence on both sides. Even the Brits gave up on it.

Even the 1948 UN Armistice Lines are a pipe-dream. We can still salvage the pre-1967 borders if there's enough political will, esp among the big powers.
