U are truely delusional
You are the delusional one. One of my relatives turned down the offer and bought his own property with the payout.
U are truely delusional
You could put the elections department under Chee Soon Juan and the PAP will still get 70%. The idea that the elections department can manipulate the voting patterns is simply too ridiculous to debate over.I disagree that the PAP is doing a good job but let's leave it at that.
70 percent is a number that Pinky decided he wanted for the last election. With him controlling the Elections Department, he could choose any number for support, even 100 percent.
You buy at $500k, put in $100k for renovation ...can make money in 5 years?
But the pap does gerrymander the constituencies to minimise the effect of strong oppo votes. Look at Joo Chiat, Anson etc,,all cut and diced and merge with strong pap areas to minimise oppo votesYou could put the elections department under Chee Soon Juan and the PAP will still get 70%. He points out the issue ...it is not the job of critics to provide a solution. Let the millionaire ministars clean up their own shit.
Why did he not turn down the whole offer and keep his land? if he had his land,,he will be even richer and better off,,,You are the delusional one. One of my relatives turned down the offer and bought his own property with the payout.

My point is that there is no shit to clear in the first place. Singapore has one of the best public housing schemes in the world, one of the best train systems in the world and one of the best governments in the world.
Sinkees can afford to have housing only because they trade away their retirement savings. If it is the best, then sinkees should be able to afford housing and also save for retirement.
If everything is the best in sinkapore, then we have nirvana and sinkees will feel enlightened. I don't see nirvana or feel enlightened.
His land was acquired you twit. Keeping the land was not an option. He had to go.
The problem is that sinkies don't realise that they are in Nirvana. They need to move to some other country and experience the ineptitude and utter incompetence of other governments to realise how lucky they are.
And the idea that Singaporeans have to make a choice between retirement savings OR CPF is a naughty lie started by the opposition charlatans. With CPF taking care of housing needs it frees up cash which can be invested for future use. That is exactly what I did and it enabled me to retire early thanks to the PAP.
KNN the irrational reason is always - after a hard day work is not irrational to pamper myself to return to a comfortable nest . the same for bed mattress people are willing to buy the most expensive ones to pamper themselves KNNWhy on earth would anyone want to spend 20% of the price of a pigeon hole on renovation unless they are crazy? This would illustrate just how well off Singaporeans are with money to burn thanks to the PAP.
So that means he never had a choice to keep his land,,,,he had to accept the options the PAP gave him,,,,His land was acquired you twit. Keeping the land was not an option. He had to go.

but he could not keep the land,,,The PAP offered him a flat. He turned it down.
I agree. Sinkees should move to countries such as the Scandinavian ones and experience how life is lived there...
but he could not keep the land,,,
Yeah they can start with Sweden I'm sure they'll have a fantastic time there.

This is now standard operating procedure. The new normal. “Youths” — as to which youths? What country of origin did the youths migrate from? Those questions are criminal to ask. In the meantime, it’s burn, Sweden, burn.

A garage and several other buildings were also set on fire during the night, creating a risk of the flames spreading to nearby homes, but the firefighters managed to localize the blazes.Later in the night, law enforcers and rescuers also had to respond to several reports of car fires occurring at various locations in central Kristianstad. Seven cars in different areas were set on fire, with two of them burning out completely, the police said. There were no fatalities or injuries as a result of the incidents in Kristianstad, it added. When asked by SVT paper if the fires were arson attacks, chief police officer Tommy Bengtsson, replied that “of course, it can’t be ruled out,” but refused to speculate about whether Wednesday’s fires were connected.Youth gangs have been blamed for staging multiple car arsons across Sweden in recent years. There were 1,835 such incidents between January and July this year, according to data by the National Council on Crime Prevention. The police warned that the arson trend may spike in the wake of the start of school in late August. On Monday, more than 100 cars were torched in the Swedish cities of Gothenburg, Stockholm and elsewhere in what was believed to be coordinated attack.Vandalism, rape, murder and other crimes have spiked in the country in recent years, and this has been linked by some to the European migrant crisis in 2015. Last year, the country saw more than 300 confirmed shooting incidents, which left 41 people dead and 135 injured. The Swedish police are blamed for lacking resources and training to reverse the situation.READ MORE: More than half of Swedish rape convicts came from abroad, TV research claimsThe crime rise and the inability of the state to integrate the arriving migrants have created favorable conditions for the rise of the right-wing Sweden Democrats. The anti-migrant party is currently polling at 19 percent, according to Ipsos, and is looking to record its best-ever result in the forthcoming election on September 9.
