That day read Zaobao talking about big expansion of water supply for bigger population and that there'll be enough water, just wondering if they fail in their projection (again) and there is not enough water afterall, what'll the govt do then?
Will they shrug it off like they did saying lack of 20/20 foresight, maybe with a few drops of tears and a word of sorry? But no water is no joke leh. Not enough space on MRT can ask people to take train during off peak hours, no water can do what? Ask people to bathe twice a week, or no need to drink or what?!

Maybe the pigs trying to stand on 2 legs will have water.. Other hardworking animals still on 4 will have to drink his own water...
Singapore did a very stupid move by not renewing the water agreements. Water from sea or our own pee will be very expensive to reclaim from in future, given the very high energy and labour costs. On the other hand, JB needs to also meet its own water demand so it is smart enough not to pursue renewing the water agreements. I think costs will go up a lot for the manufacturing industries in Singapore.

Just five years ago, I needed to ballot along side with PR for a neighbourhood primary school. Ridiculous right? My husband did NS leh and in future my two sons will be doing NS . This is not the way to treat citizen who fight for the country with their life.
Wonder is it JB don't sell or is it SG don't buy the water? Maybe they don't want to sell too..

I think its pride! Are we not paying premium with NEWater? Y cant our garment pay abit more to JB? And still get natural water? Tis the best time to renegotiate while ties with our neighbour extremely warm.
Following link for better understanding.

Very clever in squeezing poor neighbouring countries and own citizens but super generous to rich western countries. Maybe one day, our tap water will start smelling and taste like pee, people will start leaving S'pore and head up here in Johor. So many cock ups in recent years, you never know.
our gahmen very good in losing our money .

They are only good in squeezing and earning good money from citizens, go outside only lose money..I see the Msia EPF buy and sell listed shares, buy overseas properties...why can't they just do the same but must invest in this and that companies that will soon bankrupt or lose money?!
Thanks for the link, interesting to know the history. The asking price is quite expensive leh, in page 6 -> Rm6.25 per 1000 gallons compared to NEWater Rm7.50 and desalinated water Rm7.65. I thought raw water should be much more cheaper than desalinated water, some more back then in 2002.
No wonder hard to swallow the 200x price increase then, but then compared against the tens of billions lost in investments since then, it is better to pay expensive for water than drinking shit water, they should even spend some billions to add vitamins into the water.
SMRT issues profit warning: Q4 will be in the red
Lost $ in China... Only make $ in Singapore due to monopoly and billions of $ of injection of tax payers' money. The way Singapore is run in recent years is quite nonsensical. It could have fought with Iskandar by controlling the RIETS and speculators of industrial and commercial properties instead of getting SMEs to shift there.

The good days of REIT investments may be coming to an end soon. But as long as cheap funds continue to be available and the investment regulation does not change, SMEs will need to pay more and the buy/sell of heavily inflated priced commercial properties will continue.
As for SMRT, if not for the fact that it is a GLCs and may be easily propped up by Government funds, this counter should have been shorted all the way down. I would not touch this counter until I see $1.20.
