Mourinho's feud with the 'specialist in failure' is over because Wenger's time at Arsenal is finished.
But they are plenty of others things he can whinge about.

The fixture list, injuries, his players' courage, officials' decisions, the pitch, the weather, the travelling, the fans' support, the lack of finishing, etc.................

Man City boost top-four hopes with Palace rout, Swansea out of drop zone

espnfc.com

Manchester City strengthened their hopes of a top-four Premier League finish and moved up to third in the table thanks to a 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium.

City needed just two minutes to open the scoring, with David Silva capitalising on a poor Martin Kelly header following Raheem Sterling's cross, volleying home into the bottom corner for his 50th goal for the club.

Vincent Kompany doubled the scoring three minutes into the second half with a stunning first-time hit into the top corner of the net, before Kevin De Bruyne soon added a third with a finish into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

Sterling made it four eight minutes from time when he rifled home a low drive and Nicolas Otamendi then completed the scoring deep into stoppage time, arriving to meet De Bruyne's set piece before heading past Wayne Hennessey.

Fernando Llorente scored Swansea's winner as they beat Everton 1-0 to climb out of the relegation zone.

Swansea opened the scoring in the 29th minute when Llorente arrived at the back post to meet Jordan Ayew's cross and head past Maarten Stekelenburg.

And Paul Clement's side could have made it two nine minutes after the restart when a loose ball inside the Everton box fell to Ayew, but he could only strike his effort against the post.

The victory sees Swansea leapfrog Hull into 17th place and out of the relegation zone by one point.

Hull's bid for survival was dealt a blow as they were defeated 2-0 by already relegated Sunderland at the KCOM Stadium.

Hull had the best chances in the first half but were unable to find a way past Sunderland keeper Jordan Pickford, with Sam Clucas twice being denied by the 23-year-old.

And it was Sunderland who broke the deadlock in the 69th minute through Billy Jones, who got on the end of John O'Shea's flick-on from a corner to head home, with Jermain Defoe making sure of the result with the away side's second late on.

Leicester moved into the top half of the table after defeating Watford 3-0 at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester came close to breaking the deadlock in the 18th minute when Jamie Vardy's effort at goal deflected off Adrian Mariappa and came back off the post.

But Leicester did find the lead after 38 minutes through Wilfred Ndidi, who was on hand to fire into the roof of the net after Watford had failed to deal with a corner.

Riyad Mahrez made it two in the 58th minute with an excellent effort, beating two Watford players before squeezing a strike past Heurelho Gomes from a tight angle, and Marc Albrighton rattled in off the post in stoppage time for Leicester's third.

A late Ryan Shawcross own goal secured Bournemouth a 2-2 draw with Stoke at the Vitality Stadium.

Stoke edged in front when Lys Mousset headed the ball into his own net following a corner, but Bournemouth found an equaliser in the second half, with Junior Stanislas connecting with Adam Smith's cross and sending his strike through Jack Butland's legs.

The visitors were back in front in the 73rd minute when Mame Biram Diouf scrambled the ball in from a few yards out, before Shawcross handed Bournemouth a point by diverting Josh King's effort into his own net.

Sam Vokes scored a brace as Burnley came from behind to claim a 2-2 draw with West Brom at Turf Moor.

Vokes found the breakthrough for Burnley in the 56th minute when he met an Ashley Barnes cross at the near post, but West Brom were level 10 minutes later as Salomon Rondon turned inside the box and struck past Tom Heaton.

West Brom turned the game on its head when Craig Dawson netted in the 76th minute from a Chris Brunt corner, but Vokes had the final say with a header four minutes from time to level the scores.

Arsenal 2-0 Man Utd

Well done Wenger. You've managed to beat your nemesis for the first (and probably last time!).

Two former top CL teams now battling for mid table honours and Europa League places. How the might have fallen.

Ben Gibson: Middlesbrough relegation is 'the lowest point of my life'

espnfc.com

Middlesbrough captain Ben Gibson said Monday's 3-0 loss to Chelsea was "the lowest point of my life" as their relegation from the Premier League was confirmed with two games to play.

After just one season in the top flight, Boro will return to the Championship, where they spent the previous seven campaigns. The club matched a record with their fourth relegation from the Premier League.

Goals from Diego Costa, Marcos Alonso and Nemanja Matic -- all through the legs of Boro keeper Brad Guzan -- sealed their fate, but Gibson said his club had been second-best for a long time.

"It's not just tonight, it's a full season," he told Sky Sports. "From top to bottom we haven't been good enough. Players, staff, myself. They were much better in every department. It could have been 4,5,6-0.

"It was the lowest point of my career. We've got to put it right. In fact it's the lowest point of my life, not just my career. It means that much."

Gibson, who joined Boro's academy as a 12-year-old, also said the club's fans deserved better.

"The fans didn't stop singing, wherever we've been this season they've been the same," he said. "The fans deserve Premier League football and we have to find a team to do that. We have to reflect on what's gone wrong."

On their immediate return to the second tier, Gibson told the BBC: "After the highs of last season, to be honest we've wasted an opportunity to play in the best league in the world."

i

Middlesbrough boss Steve Agnew, who replaced Aitor Karanka in March, said the dressing room was quiet after the defeat.

"I'm frustrated and disappointed," he said. "We've just come away from a silent dressing.

"We were reasonably well organised, but at the same time we didn't get a foothold in the game for long enough. Chelsea have top players and are a top team, very much on the front foot to push us back. At half-time, conceding two goals the way we did was disappointing. From a defensive point of view we gave ourselves a mountain to climb.

"We've had 36 games and we have two to go and it's been a really tough season. That's a disappointment, it wasn't just this evening, it's been ongoing for as long as the season has been with us. We haven't scored enough goals and ultimately you have to score goals to win football matches."

And he was tight-lipped about his future with the club, saying: "I think the most important thing in a moment like this is the football club and it's a terrific football club, that's what it's about.

"It's not about my situation, it's about how we reflect over the summer. Finish the season strong, firstly, and then reflect and make sure that Middlesbrough Football Club can bounce back to the Premier League very, very quickly."

Antonio Conte wants Chelsea to win Premier League title on Friday

By Liam Twomey, Chelsea correspondent
espnfc.com

LONDON -- Antonio Conte urged his Chelsea players to take the first of their "three chances" to become Premier League champions against West Brom on Friday after a dominant 3-0 win over Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge left the Blues on the brink of the title.

Diego Costa, Marcos Alonso and Nemanja Matic all found the net as Conte's men condemned their struggling visitors to relegation in emphatic fashion and eased seven points clear of second-placed Tottenham, who suffered a shock defeat against West Ham on Friday.

Chelsea now require just one win from their final three matches against West Brom, Watford and relegated Sunderland to confirm a second Premier League title triumph in three years, and after Monday's match Conte challenged his players to seal a "fantastic season" at the first opportunity at the Hawthorns.

Asked what he had said to his players following the Middlesbrough win, Conte replied: "The message was now we need to take another step. In this part of the season, we always said it's right to look at ourselves and not wait for the result of the other teams.

"On Friday we have a good chance to finish this league, to become champions. It won't be easy, but now we have three chances to exploit to become champions. We are very close. But we need to take another step to become champions in the Premier League, a fantastic achievement for us.

"For sure now, I'm a bit relaxed. This step was big, a big step for us. A big win. At this stage of the season, to win is great. Now we need to do another step.

"It's very important for us to go step by step. Next it's West Brom and we have to try to win the league on Friday. It won't be easy. West Brom are a really good team, a physical team, and we must pay great attention. They will want to play a top game against us."

Cesc Fabregas shone at the heart of Chelsea's midfield in the absence of injured FWA Footballer of the Year N'Golo Kante, directly creating the first and third goals for Costa and Matic with floated passes, and Conte had words of praise for his Spanish playmaker afterwards.

i

"Cesc is one of the best examples for our season because he didn't start a lot," Conte added. "Then, through work, through hard work, he improved a lot. And now he's playing in every game. I think this development of Cesc is our development.

"We started the season not in the right way, with a lot of problems, but only through hard work did we find the right solutions and the right way. Now Cesc is showing himself to be a fantastic player. I'm pleased for him.

"I saw, this season, that he put himself in this team in every moment -- if he played or if he didn't play."

Defeat confirmed Middlesbrough's relegation back to the Championship, and caretaker manager Steve Agnew stressed the need to reflect and rebuild.

"Everyone is devastated," he admitted. "We've worked so hard for a number of years to get back into the Premier League, and we know how tough it is.

"Obviously we've come up short. I've left a very silent dressing room with everyone, staff and players, absolutely gutted. We can only reflect over the 36 games we've played. We've not won enough games or scored enough goals.

"We all know it's a Premier League football club in everything -- the supporters, the stadium, the training ground, the infrastructure is all there -- so the most important thing is to finish the season strongly with two more games to go.

"We have to gain more points to finish strongly, then everything moving forward will be aimed at getting back into the Premier League as soon as possible."

City go third after Mahrez penalty disallowed

i

Manchester City needed a huge slice of good fortune to beat Leicester 2-1. Pep Guardiola's side went third, but were lucky to escape with a win as Riyad Mahrez's equalising penalty was disallowed after he touched it twice.

This is by far the biggest game of the season in the Premier League.

Like you said, if Hull loses, they are relegated and both Swansea and Palace will be safe.
But if Hull wins, and Spurs beat Man Yoo later, Hull will be one point behind Palace and Spurs will have secured second place. Next week, Hull play Spurs at home in the last match and Palace play Man Yoo away, in what could be possibly Rooney's last game for the club and Spurs with nothing to play for.

I think Crystal Palace will send Hull down to the Championship tonight.
