The most overrated dishes..

how u order tis in chinese? ... if u wanna eat omelette, order 芙蓉蛋 la ... ask wat ingredients dey gif ... usu, nowadays, dey gif shrimps ... bruff ppl versions gif char siew ... chip versions r as wat u haf shown ...

Dun order omelette from zi char stall. Go to your favourite teochew porridge or economy rice stall and order it with 2 bowls of hot steaming porridge.........

Explains why seldom see in home cooking.

Both dishes need skill. Bean Sprout and Kang Kong cannot be overcooked. Stir fried usually 15-20 seconds in high heat.

You are paying for the skills. I trained with these 2 vegetables and I can tell you it is not easy to produce a tasty one. The other dish I trained very hard is fried rice and still not very satisfied. :(

Fish

Title salah. Both dishes goes very well in any selection and when you bring family with kids or entertain friends for a simple meal you not going to avoid it. The vendors know it and price reflects the demand. Agree on the high mark-up.

Even if you don't order it someone in the group will bring it up. Paiseh. Fall in the category of blackmail. Just like coffee or tea after a meal in the restaurant. When people started skipping desserts, the bevarage prices went up.

Yup, agree with your points, incLuding the titLe part.Paiseh.However being a 'marketing man'; i do know how inexpensive these daiLy veggies' are.Perhaps i am too pissed off by a recent dining experience at a weekend restaurant in the East; where one my kakis ordered a dish of samaL Kenya beans with hae-bee which reads $20 bucks on the finaL biLL.What a rip-off !, and hence my own's protest posting.

Hehehe. Fishy, think something to do with the wok and stove, now using the normal stainless steel and induction cooker. Was not able to reproduce the slighly 'burnt' smell of overnight rice. Previously was using cast iron wok and gas cooker and it is good.

wahlaueh!!! think me want to open tzechar stall already... me promise to use freshest ingredients and give SBF bros 25% discount :D:D:D
