where got nice nasi lemak?

this one secret is the rice and sambal chilli. side dishes up to you.
garlics, ginger, pandan leaves, coconut milk.

wash the rice clean, drain the water, set aside. heat the wok, add oil, fry the whole garlic lightly, add the ginger, low heat, don't let the garlic brown. in goes the coconut milk, simmer a bit. no need to bring it to a boil, add the mixture into your usual rice cooker with the rice in it. add the pandan leaves. usual practice is the level of broth should be about an inch above the level of rice. salt and a bit of MSG to taste.

Sambal chilli... hard work. fresh chilli pound, onions pound. frying with low heat, adding sugar, salt to taste. for me, i prefer to cook the onion paste before adding the chilli. slowly add the sugar after the chilli is added.

side dishes can include the standard omelette, ikan kuning, ikan bilis, hot dog, cucumber, etc...
