this is the WORSTEST laksa i ever eat !!!
talking about laksa, i also got recipe.
hum, dried shrimps aka haebee, some balachan, some rempah from the Indian uncle, tell him you cooking laksa.
laksa leaves, tau pok, fish cake, hard boiled eggs, prawns, coconut milk. prawns shelled and place aside, fish cake sliced place aside, tau pok quartered, hard boiled eggs halved, laksa leaves shredded, and some curry leaves.
some other prep work: pound the haebee into small fibrous texture, toast the balachan a bit first then set aside. getting the hum out of the shells!
heat the wok, add some oil, fry the curry leaves lightly, remove the curry leaves once you can smell its aroma. break up the toasted balachan block and fry it with the oil that was used to fry the curry leaves. immediately add the pounded haebee, can add a bit more oil, then add the rempah. once the aroma from the rempah fills the kitchen, can add the coconut milk. i usually add the prawns at this point in time, then add a bit of water to simmer. once brought to a boil, the tau pok goes in, the fish cake goes in.
the amount of thick beehoon is dependent on serving size, but usually get those packets from market, just place them in serving bowls, add some hum, preheat contents in bowl once with boiling laksa soup, drained and then a few good scoops of the laksa with ingredients. add the eggs and laksa leaves, it's good to eat.
ps: bestest if you have some balachan chilli standby.
