SINGAPORE - Three teenagers between the ages of 15 to 19, were arrested for allegedly setting fire to a man's doormat on April 1, at about 2.15am.
The man, 44, who resides in Jurong West, made the police report after discovering his doormat on fire, according to a statement from the police.
The fire was put out before the police arrived, but his door and the wall outside his flat was blackened.
Investigations and enquiries around the neighbourhood revealed the suspects' identities, and the police arrested the teens on April 3.
The police also reported that the teens had committed the act of mischief because of a dispute between them and the flat's occupant.
Anyone who is convicted of mischief by fire can be jailed up to 7 years, and is liable to be fined.
